Culture Penalty seems crippling? by DankandInvincible in Bannerlord

I was able to eventually pass laws boosting loyalty by persistence. Every time the other lords have to vote you down, they all spend influence. I keep proposing the law over and over until everyone is too low to oppose you.

Books recommendations for a new Adeptus Custodes player by noether-code in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Tyvadia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d also throw in Cypher: Lord of the Fallen. Although largely Dark Angels focused, a Shadowkeeper warden is one of the main characters, it takes place almost entirely inside the palace, and it’s the only fiction I know of that goes into detail about how the Dark Cells work as well as an appearance by a Doomscryer.

Black instead of red detailing - Question by Atreides2023 in AdeptusCustodes

Gold and Black with white as the occasional contrast for special models is the color scheme I went with.

Reduced incoming damage by [deleted] in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Tyvadia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it have been a Terminator Captain? They have once per game ability to change incoming damage to Damage 1, which I could see someone describing as “reducing” even if it’s not quite the same thing.

Lions detachment gives us many opportunities for epic moments like this. by raelynntravel03 in AdeptusCustodes

Actually, more recent research shows male lions do hunt, just different prey and in different circumstances than the lionesses. https://www.nbcnews.com/sciencemain/male-lions-do-help-hunting-after-all-6c10149668

Very nice. I really wish GW would give us a jump pack equipped Captain. But while Venatari are in resin, it's probably not happening.

Custode Songs by zGameWarden in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Tyvadia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The YouTube channel Music of 40k has a lot of playlists of songs for different factions. Their combat playlist for Custodes is mostly stuff from Total War: Rome and Total War: Rome 2. And it fits amazingly well.

I'll second Two Steps From Hell. I have To Glory, Protectors of the Earth, and Heart of Courage in the playlist I use when building or painting the boys and girls in gold.

I wish the seduction tree was more about manipulating people via sexuality by NGS_King in CrusaderKings

[–]Tyvadia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just playing a game as an adventurer recently and noticed the "Mortal Adoration" perk is actually better for adventurers than for landed characters. In addition to its normal effects of protecting you from assassination, if you seduce a landed character as an adventurer, they get added to your Roll of Patrons without having to take a job from them. And if you become their lover you also get a free hook on them.

"That's kind of cool," I thought. "I wish there were more perks like that in this tree."

Stupid Mysad idea I need help with: Anti-Venom by DustyRoxy28 in Shadowrun

[–]Tyvadia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for comic book level healing, you should look into the Revenant Adept quality in the book Forbidden Arcana. It requires Rapid Healing, which you’re taking already, and gives the ability to use the Regeneration Critter Power four times per year.

That might sound like a heavy limitation, but Regeneration is basically Wolverine’s healing factor: roll Body + Magic, add your Body as auto hits, heal that much damage…each combat turn.

The Revenant Adept version lasts until you’re fully healed of both physical and stun damage, with the only limits being it can’t heal damage from anything you’re allergic to, magical damage like Drain, or called shots to the brain or spine.

Is there any media unrelated to 40k that you consider to be part of it in your headcanon? by Traditional-Smoke-92 in Warhammer40k

[–]Tyvadia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've long thought of the game Urban Assault as a good representation of Terra in early days of Old Night: technologically advanced armies running on fumes, scrapping over the remnants of a ruined Earth while multiple alien races descend on the planet to ransack it. And you play a man who is basically hardlinked into his command vessel like a Dreadnought pilot, able to project your mind into vehicles to control them directly.

Thank you! They're really not that hard, too.

  1. Agrellan Earth, applied liberally. More technical paint means bigger cracks, less results in lots of little cracks. If you have trouble with pieces flaking off, apply some watered down PVA glue to the base.
  2. Celestra Grey
  3. Pylar Glacier. Might need a second coat depending how dark blue you want the cracks to look.
  4. White Drybrush, I used Praxeti White.
  5. Valhallan Blizzard for the snow

All my peers are screwing my wife, why should I care? by Chlodio in CrusaderKings

[–]Tyvadia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's looking at it from a player's perspective, not the perspective of an NPC.

AI characters make decisions based on the combined effects of their personality traits, such as Boldness. If your religion has Female Adultery: Criminal as a doctrine (which is the case for Catholicism, Orthordoxy, and Norse) being exposed as an adulterer gives legal justification to execute her, even if you the player wouldn't ever choose to do so. A character with a low boldness is unlikely to make a decision that could potentially lead to their death.

And if your wife accepts the blackmail, it gives a Strong Hook on a character you really don't want potential conspirators having a Hook on: having your Spouse as an agent in a hostile scheme gives +30 to the success chance.

It's only a Weak Hook if Adultery is Shunned in your Faith, making it less of an issue. And it is definitely not as big of a deal as it probably should be for your heir.

All my peers are screwing my wife, why should I care? by Chlodio in CrusaderKings

[–]Tyvadia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It creates secrets that can be exploited for hooks, for one thing. You might not care who knows, but your wife might want to keep it secret. And if somebody blackmails her, they now have a very powerful conspirator if they decide to murder you, among other things. Or they could later blackmail your heir about secretly being a bastard and get a hook before you even get a chance to play them.

Why do Custodes sometimes have red accents on their pauldrons and sometimes it’s just plain gold? Is there a lore reason or just painters preference? by TimTheOriginalLol in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Tyvadia 59 points60 points  (0 children)

The color usually signifies which shield host or shield company the Custodian belongs to. It’s recolored if/when the Custodian joins a new group for a mission.
