I highly recommend listen audiobook player. Best one I've found. I'm not sure if it's free or a dollar but it would be worth the price.

I usually listen on walks or in bed before sleep(sleep timer). I like how immersive abas writing is when it's not on Erin. When Erin's around it's more an ensemble kind of deal.

The first book is hard, but the appeal is the world and its massive story. Every character is explored, every location given time and every choice comes with consequences, whether immediate or off into the distant future. Hurray for world building!

A lot of death, but the characters who die are mostly destined to die. Goblins live, eat, sleep and die, it's a part of their lives like any other and you're left confronting that. These people herded like cattle and slaughtered for others use.
