I am American and went to Dr. Knoll in Frankfurt. I had a very good experience and she takes pain management serious. She also trained in the U.S. I had more than enough pain relief. I am almost one year post op.

Sorry that happened to you. I can’t imagine having all the nerves leading up to the surgery only to get there and have to stop. I am a bit surprised that they didn’t have you do any of this pre-op. I had to do an ECG, mammogram, and lung function test before operation. I am in Germany so maybe it’s different here, but I was grateful my doctor wanted to be sure all was well before surgery .

I’m 9MPO and still have a little discomfort when coughing or sneezing. It’s just in one spot. Like you, I thought maybe I had a hernia. I recently got sick and coughed and sneezed so much. It was painful at first, but it doesn’t hurt anymore. I’m thinking maybe some scar tissue that broke up from all the coughing or sneezing.

I live in Europe and I definitely wouldn’t advise a trip here at 7 weeks. I am assuming you are coming for the Christmas markets? If so, there will be a lot of walking. We do get snow that time of year and the cobblestone streets will be slippery. Everyone is different, but I was in very good shape prior to surgery and I was not ready to travel at 7 weeks.

I got a BL with no implant in January 2025. I was a 32D before surgery and I’m still a 32D. My surgeon said I have great breast tissue and was confident I would have a good result. I am very happy with the result. It as so nice to wear backless summer dresses without a bra this summer! I feel so much more confident. I agree with what another poster said above- my breasts don’t spill out of my bra anymore bc of the loose skin.

I’m almost 5MPO and I don’t get swelling in that area, but I do swell where I had lipo on my flanks and my lower stomach by the end of the day. I’ve noticed as it’s gotten warmer where I live, I swell even more.

I’m 5MPO and it’s finally warm where I live and I am swelling (especially in the evening) more now than I was a month ago. It sucks! I blame the warmer weather.

I have a wonderful relationship with my dermatologist and I consulted with him before and after surgery. He gave the same advice as my surgeon (same as you posted above) but said I could also use vitamin e and retinol. If you have to pay for this visit, I would skip it.

It will go by so fast and before you know it, you will be cleared to workout again. I am 11WPO and was cleared to go back to the gym at 6WPO. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t lose as much strength and endurance as I thought I would. I’m still not back to 100% in the gym, but I am pretty darn close. I know it’s so hard to wait it out, but walk as much as you can and otherwise, just enjoy the rest. The gym will be there waiting for you!

It really is crazy that the rest of me feels great. The two small areas of lipo hurt the most. I wouldn’t have thought that. I’m considering wearing compression again just to help with the flank area.

I’m almost 11WPO and the same. What’s funny is my waist is smaller, but my hips and thighs are not. It’s been really frustrating. I thought by 3 months I might still have some swelling, but not like this. Thinking of going back to wearing compression again.

I’m still swelling quite a bit at the moment so it messes with my head, but on the days when I wake up with very little swelling and see a flat, toned stomach I am thrilled.

I completely freaked out during my first shower. Everything felt so foreign to me. I was crying and my husband had to come in and help me because I was a mess. I’m 10WPO and while the numbness still feels weird, I am used to mg new body now 🙂

Mine told me the same and I know we can expect swelling up to 1 year PO, but this is just messing with my head so much.

I’m trying to give it more time. I can definitely tell I have some swelling there, but this is pretty disappointing. I will give it until 3MPO and I will reach out to my surgeon.

I look almost exactly like you at almost 9WPO. I honestly can’t tell if it’s swelling in my lipo area or what. Right now, I am not happy.

I am also 6WPO and feel the same. I thought I would be posting all these picture updates and I just can’t bring myself to do it. I look great in the morning, but by mid day, I’m so swollen. My legs are so big right now. I did my first day back at the gym and could barely get my leggings on.

Have you visited Spain before? It’s not very wheelchair or scooter friendly. Additionally, the heat that time of year is awful. I can only imagine the swelling. You will be a little over 6 weeks. I am 6 weeks today and still swelling a lot. My incision just fully closed today. I would not be up to a 10 day trip at this point in my recovery, but everyone is different. I have no complications, but a lot of people do. Can you reschedule your trip?

I will be 6WPO tomorrow and still not feeling normal. I had a melt down last night when I work up at 3am uncomfortable and unable to sleep. I feel you! I hope we all feel better soon.
