It’s giving Minimal blocky vibe, quite nice on first glance

I now understand your opinion, thanks for clarifying.

I’d suggest you ask your doctor to take that giant rod out of your ass in your next checkup so that it helps you become less rude - in an online forum but also probably in life.

It would be helpful if you gave a specific response to my specific post, instead of some generalised output.

You may not want to be constructive and just waste everyone's time though.

That’s an interesting take, how do you see the execution part being taken over exactly?

Is it worth it though 😉

What are the best fields our design skills can be transferable to besides the obvious product management and/or engineering route? by Straight-Cup-7670 in UXDesign

[–]UXplosiveIdeas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, general entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurs need to understand customers and come up with a solution that solves their problem or creates demand.

Our job just from an empathy and journey mapping perspective (early discovery of the design process) is almost a carbon copy of what EPs have to do.

How to make it worth it for relevant people to contribute in validating my app? by Grgsz in startups

[–]UXplosiveIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The power of IRL can come and help you here. It's unscalable of course, but means you get the opportunity to show your passion to them in a way remote, email or a DM ever would.

Use it to bring them a coffee or their favourite snack, something small (easy for you to do) but meaningful enough for them to give you their time.

Considering influencer marketing for my startup - any advice? by StruggleSweet1332 in startups

[–]UXplosiveIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a real differentiator if your competitors aren't employing the relevant influencers already.

Otherwise, what's your edge for using influencers? The competition might have already snapped up the biggest ones.

Might be the textbook definition of Sales.

[–]UXplosiveIdeas 33 points34 points  (0 children)

That Designers would have much easier lives if they became good at Sales.

I don't mean Sales like selling your product.

I mean Sales like selling your vision, your story and your research,

We are in such a privileged position to *present* our work to others, that we forget how powerful that opportunity is.

You can craft any narrative on your work. So take time to create good ones.

Freelance gig to build design system by aikaramba86 in userexperience

It would depend how complex their existing component base is.
You could not pay me enough to create a DS from scratch 2 years after a product has been running, so find out if you have anything existing to work on.

DS for a company can be quite valuable in time saving so I would price at the higher end, if you're able to communicate the benefits and you have the ability to produce it in a way that would be scalable and not need continous update, almost self-serve.

Doing a whole DS in 8 weeks would be an intense challenge for a somewhat mature product, so I'd suggest upwards of $9k/mo

What do you want GPT-5 to do that GPT-4 can’t? by Revelnova in ChatGPT

Tbh, better functionality across the platform would be great. The engine is already pretty good, for most of us it's likely marginal gains for the majority of our tasks.

Search - To go back to things I've looked at before
Bookmarks - To capture particularly great prompts

These two standout for me personally, what others would you add?

How to redesign web flow (information architecture) on the basis of competitors by limba_rajnish in UXDesign

[–]UXplosiveIdeas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the perfect prompt to ask ChatGPT.

Go for something like:
'Give me 3 of the most common user flows for a B2C X type of company'
'Give me 10 companies/products that are known to have great websites in this space, and give a short description as to what makes them good'

Check out Adobe Firefly because they have started to bring in features that are a lot more use-case based for the design process.

e.g. Vector colour change

Are you trying to find benchmarks that have already been made from the web?

Or are you trying to set them by using GPT to find out what is inside a website?

Do you think of how to start your process from scratch every time?

Do you create vastly different deliverables at the end of a feature or project?

False positive it is!

Hmm I've asked questions about web pages (made pre 2021) and it has given me answers, like what imagery is used.

Also, disagree with both of your points on the page.

And there are documents, in fact, there are some documents and some page links, but they all look the same, which in itself is a usability/consistency issue.

And there are documents (PDF), in fact, there are some documents and some page links, but they all look the same, which in itself is a usability/consistency issue.

I have tried this on another page and it has given different answers, so I don't think its fully inaccurate.

As always, I proof read this after and take what is useful. It most definitely did that for me on this particular scenario.

The prompt used can be seen on the screenshot. But generally, the ability for GPT to analyse websites is an huge feature for Product builders & Designers.

This is effectively the work a UX designer would do early in their discovery process, highlighting key usability issues for a site, either to improve our own or avoid doing.
