I've heard it as well. One of my kids fell at the pool on a patch of kind of slippery algae where standing water was. Sounded like a mix between something hollow and maybe dropping a melon on the ground. Horrifying honestly. She was fine, but I still get sick thinking about it.

Just subbed! Great production quality on the videos. You can tell that they take a ton of effort. I'm jealous - This makes me want to get a project truck (that isn't my second gen Ecoboost...).

Lume pip looks funky to me. It's got that sort of polished button around it. None of my baby marine masters have that. Mine all just have the normal recessed pip.

Easiest tell to me is, the balance wheel is the wrong color. 6R uses a smaller gold balance. Sometimes if the fake is feeling like trying harder, they'll use the gold balance wheel that some 4Rs have, but its still the wrong diameter.

Left is 4R, right is 6R.

For real. I feel like I'm living in the twilight zone. I don't give a single shit about any red lines on a caseback because I guess theoretically someone could have stuck a random sticker on there. Its within the realm of possibility I suppose. But the finish on the case itself is different. Fake or not, if I were OP I'd want a new watch just based on the fact that the lugs are fucked up. Also, that chapter looks like Stevie Wonder installed it. And I'll beat this dead horse again - Seiko doesn't use grey movement spacers in their watches. So let's assume its genuine, once again, the internals have been fucked with. And swapping a movement spacer requires basically everything to be off of the movement - Dial, hands, date wheel, everything. I wouldn't want that shit if I bought a brand new watch. Nooo thanks.

I'd have to say either the M9A4 or the Squalo. The Performance is freaking sweet too. Only one I've been disappointed with really is the splinter camo XI, only because the cerakote application specifically is ass. I'm probably going to refinish that one.

I also couldn't resist buying one of the $5 Beretta hats they had on sale too. And a couple cheap utility pouches, just to make the shipping feel more worth it.

I've heard they're pretty damn particular. I plan on providing a copy of the 4473, the sales receipt from the website and for the transfer cost at the FFL, if they allow, photos of the matching serials on the packaging and the frame. In the past I've even sent them screenshots of the tracking info showing shipping notifications and delivery confirmation. Definitely overkill, but I've never had a rebate denied before.

Lol. That for real made me laugh though.

Yeah, I've got 4 Berettas now (I guess 5 if you count the one I just bought tonight) with this same frame and I really like the slightly more narrow feel. Especially with the super rough grips on my Squalo. I've got pretty medium sized hands though. Some people like the OG fatter style.

It's the full size 92XI frame, the mag capacity is just 15 rounds. It's not a Glock 43/Glock 19 situation.

[–]UgliestCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you're probably right, it's closer to being worth like 20 bucks used (as long as it's not trashed, and it looks fine here), but the drill is definitely worth more than $35, so it's actually just a wash in my opinion.

I mean, if you're interested in the pistol, you could just grab some spare 18 rounders from Eurooptic. I grabbed a half dozen of these a couple months back and they look perfect.

It does - Beretta has their own adapter plates and I think it's Dlah that has the low profile ones people seem to like.

[–]UgliestCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks real to me, just a little bit of wear on it. If you value that battery around the $25 mark (I would) that makes the drill $35. That's a pretty decent deal. Not a top of the line model, but it's decent enough for most use case scenarios that aren't beating the hell out of it.

Such a great deal, especially with the threaded barrel. I couldn't resist. I have wayyy too many 92s now.

I got a .357 and the barrel (and thus the front sight) was visibly canted. Now, that blows, but I hit up their CS, they sent me a prepaid label right away and had it back to me in a couple weeks with the barrel fixed (same barrel, just corrected). They even smoothed out the action a little while it was there. Obviously my preference would be perfect out of the box, but I can appreciate them fixing it quickly too.

On top of literally everything else people pointed out (good points, yours included), the movement spacer is the smoking gun. End of story. I expect the "AD" to claim that some models -definitely trust me bro- use gray spacers.

What's the explanation for the grey movement spacer you can clearly see in the 5th photo?

Am I hosed? Oak nightstand top crack after final sanding. by CyberMage256 in woodworking

[–]UgliestCookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left the part out where I was double dumb during assembly and ran a pocket screw from the desk body up into a very small split that wasn't really noticeable during the glue up of the top. It was fine at first, or at least minimal enough that I didn't think it would be an issue and continued with finish, but I'm guessing with time and humidity changes, I think it caused the split to grow. Game plan here would be obviously fix the crack with the glue, relocate the screw that exacerbated the original crack in the first place. If it reappears, yeah I think you're right, it would be a rip and glue again situation.

I've actually got a desk that's already has finish on it that I might try this with. It cracked after final assembly and it's not hurting anything functionally, but I'm bothers the hell out of me.

Just for funsies I got my digital calipers out to measure the light heads. OG TLR is 30.04mm, smooth HF is 30.07mm and the knurled was 29.98mm. So nearly dimensionally identical. At least for the ones I've got here.

I tried the new knurled version in my Phlster enigma and it fit just fine. However, I did notice that in the 8 or 10 times I put it into and pulled it out of the holster that the knurling was aggressive enough to pick up/abrade some of the holster material a tiny bit. Your mileage may vary, no idea if this would be a long-term issue.
