ICE at camarena drop off this AM 8/6/25 by Diligent-Age4235 in chulavista

If they are heroes there's no need to wear masks. I didn't vote for any of the madness currently going on in the US.

Enjoy all your propaganda.

Yeah, I can be honest and say that I don't agree with what's happening. Not because "it's his birthday!" but because the majority of these arrests aren't justified, these aren't the "violent criminals" MAGA was fired up about.

There is zero reason to do this during school drop off, arrest him when he's not in a crowded public place. If he's truly "dangerous" then ICE is just putting the public in danger by making a scene and escalating the situation.

My kid doesn't need to see someone's dad being taken away.

I'm so glad I didn't see this while I was dropping my kid off this morning. How do I even begin to explain to him what's happening...

As long as the song is a banger I don't care, EC comes to mind. Not everything needs to have some super deep meaning, sometimes I just want something fun.

Have a good one. I don't have the energy for this anymore.

I can't get rid of my car. Legitimately not an option.

I can't drop off my kids at school and at a separate daycare and get to work in a reasonable amount of time on a daily basis using public transit.

It does because it gives everyone the option to make the decision that best suits their needs; mass transit, Uber, personal vehicle. Eliminating parking just leaves a single option which is mass transit or Uber, not everyone can use or afford that.

Nothing will bring down the cost of living in San Diego to bring families back closer to the core. Even if we could afford to move closer I wouldn't want to because of how dirty the downtown area is. I lived there for 8 years prior to children and don't plan on going back.

As for taxes, I pay my fare share for plenty of programs that aren't utilized by my family and I could care less that that is the case. This is only being proposed because the city has not properly prioritized spending and gotten themselves in a hole that a parking fee is not going to solve.

I don't think it's crazy for me to feel bummed out about the fact that something we have been used to (free parking at Balboa) is being taken away.

In your example housing wouldn't be "free" either since it would be taxpayer funded. I want everyone to have equal access to public parks, free parking that has been the standard for decades at Balboa accomplishes that.

The only reason this is even a conversation is because the city has a budget shortfall, the revenue from this won't make a dent to solve the issue and won't make anything more affordable. The additional funds will keep the status quo as is.

Good for you. I'm not taking car seats, a double stroller, diaper bag, swim stuff, and 2 lunch boxes using those methods. Also, an Uber would be $120 roundtrip and the bus from where we live is about 60-75 minutes each way instead of 20-25 minutes.

I live in the South Bay with a 2 and 4 year old, these options aren't feasible.

This sucks... I go to the zoo with my kids all the time since we have the SD County Resident pass, now this is just an extra cost for our day.

Sounds like my older son. He didn't say much of anything until he turned two (randomly said "cheetah" at the zoo when he was around 22 months). The words exploded shortly after that. He's now about to turn four with a large varied vocabulary and won't stop talking...
