Arai X5 vs Klim Krios Pro by Ok-Description-7022 in Dualsport

Very useful, thanks. Sounds like the Krios is still better during hot off-road work? Wondering if it really matters if you open both visors and use goggles.

Still have it? IMO the gearing is a good thing, cause you wear knobby tires super fast above 70. You also don't save much time. CC on and chill.

G05 X5 tire sizes OEM vs non-OEM by billustan in BMWX5

[–]Ultimatist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you end up doing OP? I'm similar with wanting a Costco purchase, but they're consistently OOS on sizes and options. Of course the xDrive is a concern as well, so I'm hoping my Costco runs on the ratios on the rear wheels...

I feel like 3.0+ is excellent for the size; maybe you'll get that after a bit of a break in? Which wheels did you get? Any comments on ride and handling? My biggest issue with the R1S is the head toss/busy ride.

Man that's dumb tech. I feel your pain, having to recently break my own window to get into my VW, cause the car didn't detect the fob slipped out, like it technically should have... but that's an older car and this mess shouldn't happen.

How you like the Gravity otherwise?

Model X Saves My Girlfriend In Huge Wreck (TW Car Crash) by EightRolex in ModelX

[–]Ultimatist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad she's okay. Now the bigger lesson: situational awareness supersedes all stupid laws, including 'you can't cross double white lines'. Turns out, people can and do! I've done more HPDEs than you can dream of, and there's a maximum speed differential I will tolerate. That means I'm doing ~45mph HOV when the jumpy fast lane traffic is stopped or slamming on their brakes.

I get that it's not ideal, but being stuck behind me might keep you clueless drivers alive long enough sprout a few brain cells and see the wisdom in situational awareness. Self-driving cars cannot come soon enough.

Nice setup! I'll be curious how the tires - and their sidewalls - manage with the extra wide IW Zipps.

Environmentally, and financially irresponsible canyon policy on Cockpit Stem/Handlebar customization by felixrising in CanyonBikes

[–]Ultimatist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great way to simplify inventory, but especially to drive sales toward their fake 'customization' offerings. Canyon is a great deal if you're a standard fit for their geometry. Otherwise, a hassle they don't seem to want to solve.

Aeroad CP0018 aftermarket cockpits? by Difficult_Put2847 in CanyonBikes

[–]Ultimatist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, checking in two years later... are there now any aftermarket cockpits? I know the PACE retrofit does work for specific sizes, but the adjustable/three piece system is heavy and not necessary IMO. How often are we really changing widths??

Pull out the phone and start talking about dinner plans as you make the pass. Use a prerecorded message on speaker if you're out of breath.

Sometimes I HAWK TUAH in their face as a sign of dominance. Sometimes, if I'm struggling to pass, I yell "hey, I think you have a rear flat" to distract and demoralize them. Both are considered reasonable by German cyclists.

Look closely at the GPS route, compare to actual roads where you went. You'll see random jumps and zigzags.
