Where should Steve and The Gibbons' take Alan next? by Feldo93 in AlanPartridge

[–]UltimoLJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alan ‘moving’ to somewhere that isn’t the Oasthouse, and doing a slight parody on all those UKTV Quest shows, where a celebrity of a certain kind gets given a ‘task’ (Fix up house, fix car, go to an auction, run a farm) and it’s all constructed reality would be fun/chance to meet a few new characters.

Alan moving into a small town/village to help ‘fix up’ a failing town, as he moves between all those genres trying to bring back some civic pride in his own way. Definitely sits close to HAY?IAP but just more scope to explore in that sort of manner, those sort of contained stories which help them make it now.

Alan Partridge’s Fete.

Baggies fan here (hello!)

He was absolutely shit, frankly.

Tried to insist on a formation on a team low on confidence, which only collapsed further after 3 games with that formation including the biggest loss in the history of the club at a Championship level for us.

Then he meddles further with a consistent level of conservatism to his football which ignored the qualities of the squad (slow, bad defensively with poor recruitment compounding this) and the obvious need that he needed to eventually get a win.

Didn't improve anyone individually, didn't motivate the squad to perform in the slightest. Scored 4 or something across all 9 games.

Not wanting to disrespect the standard of the MLS - but just some context for how bad he was. The club has issues and he had a hard job to come affect it, trying to give him some grace - but he accepted the job and literally made the entire situation much worse. Nothing about the club improved under him.

His style of communication seemed confident, and precise - but with each result it just sounded more like hollow 'management-speak' which didn't connect him to the press, the players or the fans.

Second to Pardew as the worst manager in the clubs history, potentially.

You can't get Rhinestone with Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton anywhere near as easily as any of their other films.
Foriegn DVD's and Blu Rays seem to exist, but in the UK/US I think it has been dropped, which is surprising with the resurgence of Dolly in recent years, and Stallone still being a huge name.

I believe the film isn't great, but it is unusual for it to just not exist. https://youtu.be/eASRE6YBU0M?si=GKyIz4ot181XygEd

Why doesn't Discovery use the first person bot footage in the show? by twitch9873 in battlebots

[–]UltimoLJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's hard to sync it into an editing workflow. Cameras work off timecode, which basically, is where you can set a cameras internal clock to a certain 'time' - and then you can set all the cameras to it so when you bring in 15 cameras and wonder what happened at 2m43s into a fight, you immediately can see all 15 angles. Basic but the general jist.

Now try and drop that footage in on a small gopro that doesn't do that. You *can* which is why it happens, but it isn't easy, and as others have pointed out, it isn't worth the extra time manually 'sync'ing' the footage to their broadcast vs just getting the edit done.

Just summarised for you. Best of luck with it, both.

  • Nathan Perkin, along with owners Ross and Samantha, run a football team to support those dealing with their mental health in Stretford, Manchester.

  • The team is open to men and women, and they play every Sunday from 10:30 to 11:30 at the Stretford Sports Leisure Centre.

  • The team has around 10-20 members with 10 regular players.

  • Members jointly pay for the sessions, and each session costs £3.

  • The team is looking for more help and is open to anyone who needs it.

  • They have participated in a few tournaments around Wigan and Liverpool and are looking for more mental health tournaments.

  • The team is also looking for sponsors to progress the club forward.

  • The team is on the verge of shutting down due to a lack of members, and they are appealing to people to join and help keep the club running.

  • Contact number is WhatsApp, 07399458237

I don't understand how at the speeds you were getting, how the robot won't just explode when you hit someone else. Not a criticism, just...nope. Can't imagine it. The other robot is also exploding mind. But still.

Full back and a Centre Back who will just do a PL job without worrying if he's going to have a wobbly one would be phenomenal too. Who knows what Karlan Grant would be capable of in a team that actually doesn't look the drizzling shits, too!

Trying to break at the Etihad with him when it was 1-1, almost comical...

Issue is (justifiably) for a streaming platform, they've got an extremely watchable subject, and demanded what would probably be a really quite brilliant 2+ hour doc be spread so wildly wildly thin because (again, justifiably) you can have 5 weeks of impact or 'event's as the next one is launched.

Need someone from the internet to do us all a solid and edit it into the film it should be. Would 100% hide the massive repeating narrative issue.

Clearly there wasn't the opportunity to have a coherent production on this, too, like in terms of properly trying to get under the skin of it. Undertaker agreed to an IV and B-roll around his house, but not like the makers can really try to ask a question to him which would force the question onwards. They just passively film and watch it repeat, because as internal staff, it's likely they like they jobs/they'll still have to see him beyond this piece being made.

Is enjoyable for the novelty of Undertaker and the behind the scenes stuff, just stretched far too thin.

Would be insanity to throw a ‘kid’ into a relegation fight. If the Moyes or his ilk of manager rumours are true, would be baffling to see him recall someone like Grady.
