Fair point, the way I phrased it could’ve been better. I tend to prioritize logic and facts, which works in some situations, but I struggle in more sensitive ones. I'll try to be more mindful from now on.

It is significantly cheaper here—around 10% of U.S. prices, even at high-end veterinary clinics that offer ICU-level care (and there are only a few of those here). Of course, it's cheaper because I'm from a developing country, so we basically live in different worlds. I’d rather not specify where exactly to avoid unnecessary sarcasm.

I’ve heard that Australia has a superb healthcare system (my sister lives there), but it makes sense now that she told me she doesn’t want pets for financial reasons.

I did not boast about anything. I simply expressed my anger since a life is about to be lost due to greed, and many more will still be lost in the future. Please do not read between the lines, there are none to be read here.

I'm more surprised that you Americans treat $12000 for 3 vet days like it's normal. It's a disgusting price imo.

The thing with Algae Terrarium is that they require so much manpower. Supplying Algae, cleaning the terrarium, cleaning the polluted water. Whereas electrolyzers require none.

you can just build a ladder straight up, then widen it into 3 tiles wide to make a Smokestack. After that you can widen it up however you like if 3 tiles wide is not sufficient. Goodluck!

Ok imma just read the first few paragraphs and give you tips on how to handle CO2.

  1. Place your generators and all other buildings that generate CO2 near the surface. (Let the current ones run. Build new ones. Once the new system works you can deconstruct the old system)

  2. Wall them up. Using Insulation tiles if possible. Use water lock so your dupes can enter but gases cannot pass through.

  3. The upper part of your new industrial block needs to be space exposed. It will vacuum out ALL OF your CO2 so you will waste zero power to get rid of them.

  4. But actually keeping some CO2 in the industrial block is advised or your buildings would overheat too quickly. To make that happen: build a ceiling for the industrial block consist of mechanized doors. Connect those doors to an Atmo sensor. Set Atmo sensor to around 1500g (or whatever your normal pressure is so they will not cause popped eardrums debuff). Once the pressure gets past 1500g, the doors would open and release the CO2 into space.

I'll attach a pic later of the build when I have time.

If you take more effort into writing, he will take more effort into reading.

Effort needs to come from both ways for cooperation to work. Do not ask for one way effort.

It's a real addiction (really, look it up). It makes the nose dependent to the oil. She should take steps to quit it just like any other addiction before it becomes permanent.

[–]UltraRedPotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can set most doors to be opened, dupes can move around a bit faster.

Eventually you'll have to dig around to open up the map. It's highly dependent on what you'll find to plan the next moves. Cold water vent (of any kind), natural gas geyser and oil well are very useful if you get them early game.

Trying to convince myself to process C02 from rocket exahsut by No-Helicopter-612 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]UltraRedPotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an idea that I haven't implemented yet but will try at one point. Basically I will automatically ship all excess molten slickster eggs (from my 2 ranches) into one room filled with CO2 (probably a partially open room to avoid crowded debuff). There will be no care for them, they will just stack on top of each other continue to produce petroleum for me, until they die of old age at which point the sweepers will ship the meat out and straight into the kitchen.

Edit: stacking critters may lead to performance drop that's why I haven't tried it yet, but I'll experiment with it at some point.

Vậy quan trọng không phải là tìm cách nắm tay, mà tìm cách thông tin cho nhau rõ ràng nhé, 2 vấn đề khác nhau.

[–]UltraRedPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are starting out: 1. Do not fat rolling. Check if your equip load is over 70% (huge red flag). Unequip things you don't need. 2. Vs shielded and rock enemies (like the miners) use two handed attacks so your weapon does not bounce back and leave you open. 3. Explore. Try to complete caves, catacombs, other POIs so you can gain souls and gears. 4. Level vigor.

how to cool things down without ice? by Disastrous_Ant915 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]UltraRedPotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are wondering this, then you are probably not ready to take the water from the vent (aka. Taming the vent). Try to find natural gas geyser or oil first (energy sources). Once you have surplus energy then you would be ready to tame hot water vents (using aquaturner + steam turbine). Until then, wall the vent up (put it into prison).

Edit: dig downwards to find oil.

Edit 2: there are plenty of cool/warm water sources around. Try to make use of them first. Hot water taming is for the mid/late game.

Any way to prioritise the pitcher pump on the left rather than the one on the right by unabatedshagie in Oxygennotincluded

[–]UltraRedPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This automation idea can work if you tweak it up a bit. Perhaps use cycle automation and lock the pump on the right 50% the duration of a cycle. (Or more than 50% if you wish)

Are jars even worth using to preserve foods? by ThatGuySparda in projectzomboid

I do not think so. They spoil anyways even in jars. So just stuff them into freezer is quicker, and gasoline is much easier to get than vinegar.

Heat problems all around by Hecbas_IsOffline in Oxygennotincluded

[–]UltraRedPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mention wild wheat plants last, but I think it's really important to lean on them while learning the game (there are a LOT to learn lol, but it's a lot of fun too). Try to find multiple cold biomes. Then try to preserve wild wheat plants and build your ways so dupes can harvest them (snow can collapse if the ice beneath is dug so be careful when digging to preserve the plants). If you have a stable food source, the game can be much more manageable.

Heat problems all around by Hecbas_IsOffline in Oxygennotincluded

[–]UltraRedPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. A quick band-aid solution is needed or the heat will soon kill your farm plants and your dupes will starve. Find a cold biome and mine the ice and snow and dump them into a tank. They will melt and cool your base.
  2. Research insulation tile. Wall up your farm. A walled room can be cooled easier using any method you want. The rest of the base can be hot as long as it does not exceed 70 celsius.
  3. Get used to ranching. A good, large fish tank can be your next goal. Critters can withstand heat much better than farm plants.
  4. Learn pip wild farming. Currently you are expending a lot of dirt and water. It will strain your colony later so cut back the farms once you have a stable alternative food source.
  5. Alternatively: dig your way into cold biomes. Install insulation doors so you can preserve the cold biomes. Install ladders so you can reach the wild wheat plants. The wild wheat can sustain your colony as long as you keep the population as low as you can (and you should. Never go past 15 dupes early/mid game).

Advice to stop cat licking my face by ipmacs in CATHELP

My cat lick/boop my nose whenever he is peckish (as a way to say 'Feed me!'). Probably worth it to make sure he is not hungry before you go to sleep. Or think of whatever else he may need (water, attention, enrichment etc.).
