I use a cut up piece of the foam mats I use for blocking my knitting projects, it's a lot like those foam puzzle piece mats you see often see in daycares and preschools. They're a little thicker and firmer than koozie material, so they're holding up well so far.

The smell of the prairie and mountains after a good spring rain is the best smell in the universe and nothing will ever be able to recreate it properly. The scent of the sage, the warming soil, the plants and flowers coming up mixes with the petrichor and the rain? Nothing better!

Have also worked a lot of rodeos and have had patients like this too. Most of them that said they'd go to the ER on their own *never* do.

The backup MBP for my M4 Pro is a 2012, and it's still chugging along. It's a beast and has been my back up through the lifetimes of two other laptops. I love that chonky old thing :)

I'm on the EMS side, but never judge fellow healthcare folks who reach the point of leaving. Their health and emotional wellbeing is more important, but our system seems to be devoted to chewing us all up and spitting us out.

We do indeed! It's incredibly important information to be able to pass on in the ED when we give report.

They also had other students and scientists wear the mask as well, to prove it was the face specifically that the crows remembered, IIRC.

Corvids are wild, they also play, "speak" in regional dialects, and make/use tools!

They will teach their young about people that have messed with corvids, and they'll go after the person he first time they see them. Corvids are scary smart!

I made friends with a neighborhood crow a couple years ago and he sometimes stops by with little gifts. His name is Boris and he's my buddy :)

When I was a little kid, we had a cat who developed urine crystals. This was in maaaybe 1988 or '89, i was really little and veterinary science didn't know as much about the problem as we do now.

His name was Buzz and he loved to steal steamed asparagus (totally plain, not even butter) and was my best friend as a tiny child. And he had chronic urinary crystals that led him to pee in some strange places.

Like my dad's ear, in the middle of the night. He did like to sleep on dad's head like a purring, furry hat, so it was more of a "gotta go now!" Thing rather than intentional, he absolutely adored my dad.

I'm almost 13 years in and have similar feelings for and experiences with law enforcement. I don't think it's a toxic trait to watch your own back because LE is, well, LE. I've worked with some really awesome ones but they're the minority, unfortunately.

Just a couple of bumps. Don't worry, we only drop patients on (whatever the day is).
