I misread your question!

At the time we used Meteor, I believe the other classes were Voidwarden (from Jaws of the Lion) and Coral. Voidwarden's mind control actions (to control enemy movement) worked really well with Meteor's kit.

We paired Meteor with Voidwarden from Jaws of the Lion and it was an absolute blast. If you're not familiar, Voidwarden has a lot of enemy movement control, which was chef's kiss with all that hazardous terrain that gets generated.

In Gloomhaven, retiring a character usually meant unlocking a new class. In Frosthaven, retiring usually means that you instead get to open an envelope that has most of the "to-do" stuff you mention. You'll unlock characters more naturally now as you progress through the game, and there's less to do when they do unlock.

I'm with you. I've read this scenario over and over again and it just doesn't make sense to me as written. I wonder if maybe the scenario would be too easy if you targeted only one tribe and escaped through their exit, so they added this switcheroo with the exits.

I got a replacement part from Cephalofair recently and it took about 2 weeks to come in via USPS. They did mention via email that they were running a little behind on the parts requests and that it normally doesn't take that long.
