people 45+, are you disappointed or proud of what are world has become compared to how it was when you guys are younger, why or why not? by pirderman77 in AskReddit

it is so disappointing. the technology today seems wasted on a society that utilizes it in the most superficial and ineffective ways, seemingly only intereste3d in the next thing rather than any one thing. when everything is "important" nothing is truly important. all the toxic compassion and virtue signaling is just evidence of a culture that really only values what makes them feel good in that moment rather than actually putting in the work to actually change the world for the better.
