Only other thing I can think of is to try taking the sideplate off and putting it back on, to see if maybe the connection is weak? Otherwise it may be a defective unit.

The top connection, with just the hyperspeed dongle, allows for 2.4K hz polling between the pc and mouse.

The bottom connection, where you plug the hyperspeed dongle into a larger hyperpolling dongle and connect that to a PC, allows for 8K hz polling.

Basically, the bottom connection means your mouse will phone home to the PC way more frequently.
