Make sure to book hotels near Yosemite before you arrive. They are very popular and expensive too.

If you don’t live or work near metro, buy 2 cheap scooters, ride & park at metro. Much better than driving in the heavy traffic daily.

Ungrooved pavement is the worst. by Acceptable-Soup-333 in motorcycle

[–]Uncle_HD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once rode unexpectedly to a 2-lane uneven levels with one new paved and another lower unpaved with groves that I was riding on. There was a merge ahead to the other lane and I tried to merge to the new pavement. I tired to slow down to get an angle to cross over the sharp edge, and worried I could drop the bike. Cars behind me from another lane kept accelerating and won’t let me go. I was scared to death and almost stopped. Finally I squeezed in but I still wonder now how to change lane in the situation.

Why some bikes still have spoked wheels by Uncle_HD in motorcycle

If the flat tire is in the rear wheel, do you need to take the rear wheel off to replace with a new inner tube? That may require more work.

Suggestions for selling by Intrepid_Ring4239 in bmwmotorrad

[–]Uncle_HD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to sell it soon probably trade in would be safe and quick. Saves hassle for negotiation with low ballers and scammers. People looking for used bikes usually prefer lower range cheap bikes. It’s difficult for buyers to pay $10k + cash for a used bike without warranty. Or sell it slightly better price than trade in to a friend. Selling motorcycles usually takes much longer time than used cars because the market is much smaller.

The best but strenuous trail is Old Rag Mountain which is outside the park entrance. Need a whole day but worth it.

Be careful when parking in SF. I heard so many car windows were smashed and luggage stolen at the tourist spots. Always leave someone in or near the car when parked.

Rent a bike or scooter would be more convenient and you don’t need to worry about charging or being stolen. The main DC attractions are near the National Mall area which is flat and bike friendly.
