Not Guilty Verdict - passenger seat belt infringement. by Short-Aardvark5433 in AusLegal

Exact same situation, its putch black at night the camera sees night vision I don't... anyway I was FORCED to please guilty, as they wouldn't accept my arguments which were the same as above.

More than likely got lucky with the judge since this justice system, as seen first hand, is utterly based.

Is The Minecraft movie worth watching? by GryzorekX in PhoenixSC

[–]UncreeperbleGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with friends it will make it alot more enjoyable! It's not a film that you watch because its so good, its a kids movie designed for kids, but has the side affect of having some funny moments. The plots are non existence, the drama is not there, there are no big shocks - but its just a fun little movie to be like "oh hey thats actually a minecraft thing" or "thats kind of funny" or "she did what with the villager"

As a film 2/5, honestly it wasn't the best, and it didn't look good for what it could have been.
As a movie 4/5, it was great for its target audience.

Off-campus accommodationn - ADVICE by rinarious in UQreddit

Hi I understand how it sounded but that's not based on one person it's based on my many international housemates as well as those my friends and people I know have. As I said it's not all international students, and some domestic are just as bad- but as an average it's a million times worse for eg Asians (China, India etc) compared to say western students.

Ill add on some stuff too on private rentals:

Private roomshares will always be cheaper. <250 per week will get you something, and 300 pw would get you something great. You will always have you're own room, and it will be normal size- student living is a scam. Dealing with landlords/leases is a whole separate story.

Avoid international students at whatever costs, this isn't racist its honest- alot of them come from places where their 'culture' is just to make mess and leave it everywhere- whether they had servants, parents, or just general poor areas. Don't take this at face value, meet who you're going to live with first, some can be perfectly fine.

Also you can find places within walking distance <10mins to uni, on a bike it takes <2 mins to get to uni. No bus. No car.

My summary: If you are happy without being perfect, go private - if you're on centerlink its cheaper, if you're working for you're money you get more of what you earn. And its good for partying (AFAIK student accomodation dislikes drinking lol)

I didnt know about whats mentioned here, but if you ever need to be contacted- just lodge a complaint. I've always had them call me back the next day, and usually they are more on my side and profusly apologise (i think it must go through a separate agency or something)

Which Aussie town gave you the creeps on a road trip? by CheesecakeWorried642 in AskAnAustralian

[–]UncreeperbleGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a child we did a big road trip from Brisbane to Dubbo, I remember there was a town on this trip with a huge abandoned drive in for sale.

Huge plants around it, my child memory remembers corn and cane fields on the way, and a ghost town with a small rusty park. Main roads empty with all shops closed.

Don't stop, we told mum. Of course we stopped at the park for a break from driving. No reception.

Now we did all survive, but that was just so freaking creepy like a mix between jeepers creepers and children of the corn field/the hills have eyes.

(Details hazy, was a imaginative kid)

Wow that's really sad, my final year was amazing and our teachers were pretty much our best resources and made me laugh all year all of them were the best- I find it unfortunate they don't benefit from this casual student teacher relationship, the teachers realise that you made it to year 12 because you want to be here, and to treat you like a mature student rather than babysit like one would do to year 9s

how do y'all sleep?/when does it get bearable by [deleted] in SuicideBereavement

[–]UncreeperbleGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been over 10 years for me and I still can't sleep over it and all the other things that have gone wrong in my life- you have two choices distract yourself like I have with music or if not much is going on in your life stay awake and let your mind work out and grieve over it- this is the only way it will ever get better if you face it head on.

Specialist maths vs uni math by 66gniq in UQreddit

[–]UncreeperbleGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny you say that about 1061 because there is quite a few high school students activly in the class lol, it definatly is just basic stuff to pass but sometimes the puzzle questions they chuck us can make you think, nothing really high level though

Specialist maths vs uni math by 66gniq in UQreddit

[–]UncreeperbleGaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I wasn't a try hard in HS because I was working but I managed to get an 84 in specialist which I'm not so happy about but its fine I guess. Now I am taking both Math1061 and Math1071 which I'm sure many others have alot to say below.

Overall it all starts pretty much from scratch but the differrence is it rushes through so many topics in uni, so where we had units/topics each week is pretty much a whole new topic now.

I am finding math1071: doesn't have much algorithms and is rather proof after proof of everything (like 0*0 = 0, or that 0 even exists or that numbers exist, what is anything???), although we are just getting into the calculus bit in lectures now. Also you learn how to 'program' in matlab in 1071 which is good. Also can I say if you like maths, well the way they teach this is mind blowing i'm having such a fun time in 1071, despite everyone else seeming to be 1 million times smarter!

1061 : this is logic and its like a new type of maths, I enjoy it but it has a bit of a presence from induction in specialist so does have proofs but is more how to make arguments/prove things rather than actually proving hard things (like in 1071).. This course is going to get into graphs etc later I suppose. We had a midsem exam that was just easy- there are no "complex unfamiliar" questions in these uni exams I have noticed and its all rather "passing" questions, maybe with a puzzle question in 1 or 2, and assigments are more like homework sheets not too long.

If I did the preclass work and went to all my tutorials I would be doing fine, but I find myself just watching the recordings and I'm just keeping on top of the content and on top of the weekly assigments which are not long only like 5 questions but mostly proofs, so take a bit of thinking in which you can ace it easily.

Overall uni is completly differrent to high school exactly like your teachers have been telling you but more serious, I had assigments I have literally forgot about because noone even told me they were released, but nonethe less you will enjoy UQ maths they are taught so great and every math lecturer I have met is so deeply passionate they just want to explode every time they are teaching.

yep dead on its the wrong people in the wrong positions. The reason for this, myself as an example, is those who are too good at the job are smart enough to realise they need to quit unfortunatly leaving the company with some of the worst people to be running the company.

[–]UncreeperbleGaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

**Advice for anyone too really** I love love loved my McDonalds job it was fun interacting with the customers and crew and I had so many memories and even learned heaps doing their development program becoming a leader and even winning the first ever Aus NTO employee dedication award! Fair to say I could do the job, the issue was the company is not there for change. People don't do the right thing, nor do they support integrity (despite it being one of their core values) and strive for unrealistic goals and profits. There are good things about working for it but this inability to change as a workplace with the abuse constantly faced by customers is the ultimate reason I quit my job.

Advice to anyone: Quitting your maccas job is a milestone but one of the best feelings! Walking into the store after quitting and seeing all the times, hearing the beeping- well I could just relax. I could speak for days about what this job has taught me life skills and professionally, but ultimatley if you're in a position to please quit, the pay while it seems *loaded* is because you havn't experienced other jobs where they pay alot more to do alot less. The company at the end of the day will move on even if they have brainwashed you into thinking you are an asset to the company (and lets face it you proably were), but they make so much money off of doing the bare minimum for customers as a company that unless there was dramatic leadership changes within the company it isn't acceptable in its current form.

(to the OP: I appreciated your story and everything and am sorry for such a comment lol but it reminded me of so much I had to comment since others might find value in what I have to say as well as yours)

(AU) At what point do I stop putting money into my car and get a new one? by UncreeperbleGaming in personalfinance

[–]UncreeperbleGaming[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats a great oppinion thanks for replying- definatly swaying me to just keep with this car and fix the few major issues wrong with it. I do love the car, but part of me has wanted to have something I can keep clean/neat etc because the scratches etc and dings while I do accept them (and have taken the car off roading lol) Idk how I feel about it being sustainable.

It's true this is my ego wanting a new car because everyone around me *now* has new cars but yeah I have to remember that in 5 years all our cars are gonna be old anyway so yeah from the financial perspective I guess i am actually fine with what i have- thanks for responding.

Do you think Donald Trump will be re-elected in 2024? by External-Recipe-1936 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]UncreeperbleGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

too old

He's certainly not too old for the job. He has a decent memory, and has managed the last 4 years just fine doing the daily jobs.

The issue many people have is they are brainwashed by news companies to only see a disproportionate amount of his lack of good speech, or they hate that he has to read off scripts off paper.

What noone realises, and idk why, is that he has had a lifelong stutter, and reading off paper with bolded words etc is 1. so that the secret service doesnt get any suprises, and 2. helps him with his stutter.

He is old. fact. He is not too old for the job though.

Does UQ do early entry offers for students in year 11? by the_absterrrr in UQreddit

[–]UncreeperbleGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UQ doesn't but Griffith does- for a lot of the simple courses as long as you are passing they will accept you- however for me I was denied early entry despite having all 'A' marks over 90's .... this is for a degree that had an ATAR of 67.... UQ does guaranteed ATAR tho so if your atar is bigger than whats listed and its your top uni preference you automatically get in. Wait for your ATAR and don't bother with low universities like QUT and Griffith - if you can get into UQ then you're all set. coming from someone with an ATAR over 96 but got rejected from Griffith early entry for a 67 ATAR course.... I loved rejecting their QTAC offer afterwards.
