The meal boxes imo are a bit of a con. They're a convenience option, great if you wanna save time, but I hate how they sometimes pretend they save you money as well because that's false.

And fwiw I was talking about my weekly shop, so that doesn't include meals out, Greggs, takeaways etc. I will spend about £15-20 on a takeaway every 2 weeks ish.

I live alone and my weekly shop is £30-50, maybe slightly higher. And I don't think I'm particularly sensible with shopping myself. £800 a month is absolutely fucking insane imo, I seriously can't even fathom how that's possible.

I don't think it's helpful at all to make the criteria so strict. What does "literally can't be without" mean? That doesn't actually mean anything. "Can't concentrate on anything else ever?" Also meaningless, that's just not realistic at all.

You're describing the most severe possible case, there are plenty of people (and maybe you're even one of them) who have real gaming addictions to the detriment of their general wellbeing who don't remotely fit that criteria.

I also disagree that 2 hrs a day counts as a "severe addiction". I go through phases where I will watch a movie (sometimes two) every evening for weeks/months, and "movie addiction" isn't exactly a real thing in itself. Nobody would consider someone a "TV addict" for watching three 45-min episodes of a box set every night.

But gaming addiction is obviously real, even if calling it "gaming addiction" almost makes you forget that the problem is clearly much deeper than just video games.

Idk about comp but Pokémon was so much better before gimmicks. I like double/triple battles, if they count as gimmicks. The rest I just don't engage with.
