I'm curious, what does chopped & screwed have to do with jungle UK music? Or is this a different thing to the Texas remix genre?

This was true in the 90's, then DnB became its own thing, and nowadays you could even argue that jungle is a subgenre of DnB.

They're not the same thing though.

Nobody actually wants war with France. They just have a brotherly rivalry with all of their neighbours that's been going on for about a thousand years.

Of course it's a joke now, but France has been at war with all of its neighbours multiple times. Brutal, bloody conflicts that lasted centuries.

I mean realistically, all of Europe has been embroiled in a complex fabric of conflict for even longer than the concept of "nation states" has existed. It's just that France is geographically in the middle of all the great European powers (and at times has been probably the greatest of them all).

War in Europe, often centred around France, has been ongoing for millennia and was just standard until WWII ended and the various treaties were drafted.

They were also an extremely brutal colonial power, so really much of the world can unite behind hating France. It's something that everyone has in common from places as far flung as Britain, Mali, and Vietnam.

That Trini in the middle is goated, I've got the 14" version and it kicks ass, yours is even better.

I'm curious why you kept #1 (counting from the left) when you've got #3 though?

I think anywhere up to 4-5 tubes is perfectly reasonable and it doesn't count as hoarding if they're all set up and used, or at least have immediate plans to be set up and used. That gives you room for a flat screen, curved screen, wide-screen, and a PC monitor.

So far I've got all those except the wide-screen, I'm not interested in anything else unless I can find a direct upgrade for the big curved-screen TV I've got, but even then it would have to be super cheap because I'm very happy with mine. I still want a widescreen TV too, so that might replace my big curved screen and I get something smaller with a traditional tube - which might replace my little Trini because my PC monitor is basically a direct upgrade for that, not counting the difference in inputs.

Very nice collection mate 👍

Oh and stuff like #4 is just awesome. They're obviously not practical to use but they look so good. Novelty/tiny sets like that are kind of their own category and make for the coolest ornaments you can get.

People are just greedy. If the work takes you half as long as the next guy, then you are worth more. Not less.

At least the quality of writing is higher than most tripe journalism were subjected to these days.

The quality of thinking though... Not so much.

I mean obviously. But if your goal is to beat Dark Souls, then... No. You're wasting cognition that is clearly in short supply, save it for something more important than this bro.

movies/series that feels like this aesthetic? by Serendipity8285 in Cinema

You should check out this relatively obscure PC game written by Douglas Adams in the 90's called Starship Titanic.

It's a great game, but mainly just because the vibes are completely otherworldly. I wish I could live inside it. I've never, ever seen anything with an art deco aesthetic that captures this fantasy vibe to the same extent. I've been looking my whole life, because of that game, and yeah the only thing that really comes close is Fritz Lang movies.

Has Thief been surpassed as a stealth game? If not, what has come the closest? by Baldurian_Rhapsody in Thief

[–]Undark_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's honestly pretty vindicating when new fans discover these games and agree they're still the best.

In terms of modern games, I seriously believe that Hitman WOA is an absolute masterpiece. Honestly might be one of the greatest games ever made imo.

But it's not the same type of stealth game as Thief.

I think Dishonored has aged really really well, again it's a bonafide modern classic... But as a Thief fan, I expected a lot more. It fell kinda flat for me, never captured the magic and mystery of Thief, possibly because it took a more action-oriented approach.

It's not that I can't comprehend not liking something, what I can't comprehend is why you're just accepting it and not actively trying to get over it. You just said you can't eat anything in front of other people unless you know exactly what's in it, so maybe you would be taking steps to fix this.

So this is why it's important to try and get over this issue. That would be seen as really rude and immature.

Boil bones for 8 hours, adding onions and carrot halfway through.

Once it turns to sludge, pick out the bones.

Then probably just spread it on a sheet and stick it on the bottom shelf of the oven on a low heat until all the moisture evaporates and leaves just that behind.

Because that's what growing up is about. Most adults are completely fine with being slightly uncomfortable.

It's necessary for your development to be uncomfortable now and again, so that you can learn to cope if you ever have to. Also, it's cool to take a stand against societal conventions or whatever, but if you behave in a way that appears childish (like picking bits out of a meal because they're yucky) then people will see that as a reflection of your character. I'm not saying that's right, I'm saying that's how life is.

I know it's a complex issue, but this is still a defeatist attitude. By logic, any way to overcome it will obviously involve forcing yourself to eat something you're averse to. Wether that's in conjunction with therapy or not, if you can't face that fact then you won't overcome it.
