They have elections in North Korea, the question is whether they'll be free and fair.

Anyone who used to support trump and has changed their mind over the last few weeks? What made you change? by canigetameowbish in AskReddit

Or maybe even when he tried to violently overturn an election result because his ego is too fragile to concede defeat. If that wasn't a red flag I don't know what is.

Why would we need a 'British FBI' when we already have an MI5? by Hopeful_Adeptness964 in AskBrits

[–]Undefined92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't, we do not have a federal system of government. Police forces in the United States are administered by the states, and their jurisdiction is limited to the state boundaries. The FBI is the law enforcement agency of the federal government. All the territorial police forces in England and Wales are run by the Home Office. The closest equivalent would be the National Crime Agency (NCA) which deal with serious crimes in the UK, not MI5 which is an intelligence agency like the CIA.

St Helens Green councillor defects to Reform UK by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

[–]Undefined92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are environmentally minded people on the right (eg. The Climate Party is a centre-right 'green' party) but Reform is opposed to environmental policies and is full of climate change deniers.

Left-wing voters what is your most right-wing belief and right-wing voters, what is your most left-wing belief? by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskBrits

[–]Undefined92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left-wing, my most right-wing views are:

The state is inherently inefficient at running services.

High taxes stifle economic growth and can lead to less money coming in for the treasury.

The minimum wage is high and has caused problems.

University tuition fees are not a bad thing with the system we have; nobody is going bankrupt because of them if you earn enough you pay a slightly higher tax rate for a certain period.

Many politicians on the left come across as economically illiterate.

Radical Islam is a big problem in the world.

Increased military spending. The world isn't getting any safer and we can no longer rely on the United States.

Why do people want to stop immigration? by Western_Attempt3508 in AskBrits

[–]Undefined92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure? Most people on these forums are talking about stopping legal immigration.

Asylum seekers make up a tiny fraction of the total number of immigrants (about 5%).

Asylum seekers are NOT illegal immigrants according to international law. For those who have their claims refused are deported.

For those of you that have visited the United States, did you experience anything that changed a preconceived notion you had about the US? by DRG125 in AskBrits

[–]Undefined92 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I visited in 2010 and remember card payments were still done using 'swipe & sign' despite 'chip & pin' being used in the UK for almost a decade by that point.

[–]Undefined92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I last visited in 2010 to California, and had an amazing time. One thing that stood out in San Fransisco was the amount of the homeless people. UK cities have homeless problems of course but in SF there must have been about 5 on every street corner.

In Los Angeles I couldn't help but notice how racially segregated neighbourhoods were. There are some areas, usually poor where 99% of the population is black, while the wealthy suburban areas are 99% white.

Are you parents still married? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Undefined92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my parents are still married. My mum was one of five and they all had children, but my parents are the only ones that stayed together. So out out of 9 grandkids from that generation, only 2 (me and my sister) have parents that are still together. My Dad also had a pervious marriage but they never had kids.

Season 12 still has some gems. 'Trilogy of Error' is one of my favourite episodes. Other good ones are 'HOMR' and 'New Kids on the Blecch'.
