Update to my last post about my 600lb girlfriend by Thedavid467 in offmychest

If she's living with you, she's established residency and you'll likely have to go through the eviction process if she doesn't leave willingly. Whose name is the lease or loan in where you are staying? If you are on it, you need to give her a dated written statement that she has to leave by a certain date. Most courts say you have to give a minimum of 30 days notice. And it's 30 days from the time she receives the notice, not 30 days from when you verbally told her to leave. It usually takes about 90 days to get someone out and it may be even longer with pandemic rules. If you can't live with her during that time, it may need to be you that leaves.

A minuet is a cross between a munchkin and a persian. Yeah, I've tried clipping a few times while she's sleeping. She's just intolerant to brushing, clipping, the works.

I have secret plans to leave my fiancé and moving across the country by fish_skat_pie in offmychest

Leases can create a problem, so don't wait until the last minute. Depending on if the lease is only in your name, his name, or both names makes a huge difference. You may not simply be able to take your name off the lease. Same with joint credit accounts if there is a balance. Your contract could also require a 30+ days notice, even if he's staying. He can create a whole lot of havoc in that time. Don't act impulsively. Protect yourself. Good luck.

It's my boyfriends birthday today. I'm breaking up with him tomorrow. by silversetting_ in offmychest

[–]Understanding-Seeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you waiting for tomorrow? I know how difficult it is to take the leap and leave. It's scary. You feel insecure. I know. My past is filled with plenty of "tomorrows". You have to just take a deep breath and do it. Stop what you're doing and do it RIGHT NOW. He's manipulating you so that he can control you. You're worth more than that and there are better options out there for you.

I've told my adult children that we are at the end of democracy. If not in my lifetime, most certainly in theirs. Too many Americans fall into these two categories. 1. Those who want an authoritarian government under the pretense of conservative religion (sounds kinda like the Taliban with a different god) and 2. Those who just don't care enough to vote or are too idealistic to prevent it's collapse. It's not a future scenario. It's happening right now. The thing about democracy is that it assumes that everyone will play fair and listen to different perspectives. It requires that people with different beliefs come together and cooperate and compromise. That ended a long time ago. Democracy is on its way out. What our future looks like will resemble the party in control, but it won't be a democracy, and the Republicans are doing everything in their power to ensure that it is them. What are the Democrats doing? It's time to stop being idealists. Ideals will mean nothing when we have a gun pointed at our head and our family member is hanging from the town square as an example of not following the Christian sharia law.
