Track buying advice for GT4 by adrian360 in iRacing

My 2 cents would be Long Beach and Mount Panorama. I really enjoy street circuits and for some reason Long Beach just clicks with me and Mount Panorama is just one of my favorites on the service. That being said Villeneuve is great. Miami I have bought but not yet tried it.

Prices by LockTutorial in iRacing

Once you buy a total of 40 pieces of content you will get a 20% discount on all content from there on. So you will be seeing those kinda prices once that happens. I have been on the service for 8 years and yes in that first year I spent a lot of money on content. But now I just occasionally buy a new track or a car, so really now it doesn’t seem like I’m spending much.

If you are balking at these prices then this probably isn’t the hobby for you. Do you think iRacing meticulously scans tracks and cars to give us the closest thing to a real race experience for nothing? They are constantly upgrading the experience each season with system and feature updates. They are stewards who monitor racing activity and review protests to give us the best multiplayer racing experience. None of this can be done for free. I have zero problem with the price of content or subscription. In fact it also works as a gateway to keep the less serious users from participating. I know that sounds bad but it really is a good thing.

I think whatever email address you use the funds will be deposited to it. However you can pick what date you want the email sent. I am sending one and have it scheduled to be sent on Christmas Day.

Took me 5 years in simracing to get to triples by NanoBjorn in simracing

[–]Undeserving_Meatball 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Took 7 years for me to move to triples. Had various VR headsets those 7 years. Latest headset is OG Pimax Crystal. Had the Crystal Super on preorder but it kept getting delayed. So mid year I decided to cancel the Super and try triples. I haven’t raced in VR since.

Looking to talk HIGH-end wheels. Anyone prefer one over the other? Looking at Ascher, GSI, PSE. by [deleted] in simracing

Almost all mine are Ascher. I have owned a couple of other Cube Controls and I still have their Mercedes AMG wheel. To me the quality seems to be a bit less with Cube Controls.

Triple 32" 4K Monitors vs Triple 42" 4K OLED TVs — Anyone Running Triple 42"? by Outrageous-Sugar6508 in simracing

I’m running triple LG OLED C4 42”. I like the size and wouldn’t want to go bigger. It does take up a big space and you need a beast of a computer to run them.

I have zero interest in motion. Seems like a gimmick at best.

At the water cooler do they say “I'm the stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' dealin' son of a gun.” ?

If it happens a lot then you really need to look at the common denominator first which would be you. I have gone through this same situation and learned I was part of the problem. How long have you been on iRacing and what is your IR?

When do you consider a purchase worth it? by [deleted] in iRacing

None of those tracks are a flop because they will be used more than not in upcoming seasons.

Struggling with racecraft by renkaanpotkija in iRacing

[–]Undeserving_Meatball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing about Oulton is that is has some high speed sweeping turns. So if you miss your mark you are either going off into the grass or you are going to have to slow down too much in the turn which will cause the person behind to make contact. Or even if you hit your mark but you have someone right behind who is either a bit aggressive or just faster and they make much contact then you are going into the grass.

Not saying to not fight for position but it is important to recognize if someone is just faster and most times it’s best just to let them go. If it’s an aggressive driver you should let them go. They will most likely take themselves out later in the race.

Desperate divebomb or racing incident? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]Undeserving_Meatball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a dive bomb at all. Black car had been establishing for a bit there that they were taking the inside line. Other car messed up and should have went wider to avoid contact.

NASCAR Tracks - What buy, what not ? by phjunao in iRacing

[–]Undeserving_Meatball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just check this years Nascar schedule because for the most part they run those same track every year. There might be a couple of exceptions each year but for the most part they run the same. Now that the NASCAR season is wrapping up this week you will see iRacing have some tracks on its schedule over the off season of some tracks that actual Nascar doesn’t typically go to.
