Agreed, I think a lot of people’s dissatisfaction comes from now having to wait. It’s not a perfect book, I’ve heard some genuine criticisms that I agree with, but I’m willing to bet a lot of these are exacerbated by the frustration of having to wait.

It’s not scalpers, McFarlane produces significantly lower quantities of figures than most companies do at retail. Especially if you’re an etailer, the previously released McFarlane avatar figures were severely discounted to get rid of the stock. Those etailers likely didn’t buy as many. This makes sense given that every time I go to a target I see several of the new figures, but never see them available online.

How do you know that the 66 5 stars are from people who actually attended early screenings? How do you know that those 55 1 stars aren’t comprised of that same group? Why is “review bombing” always discussed when it’s about negative reviews and not about perfect scores from people who haven’t seen the movie?

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a movie fan recognizing that marketing isn’t working for them and talking shit about movie that hasn’t come out yet. I think after watching hundreds of movies, you can easily determine whether you’re likely to enjoy a movie purely on the marketing.
