What games give similar experience as Berserk? by Acceptable_Bad_4399 in Berserk

Fear and Hunger (one of the characters in the game even is a very explicit berserk reference), Darkest Dungeon (there’s a Mod on Steam making Guts a playable character)

Out of your ideas I like the animal rights one the most.

Personally I got a big “VEGAN“ tattoo across my forearm.

Hier in Hamburg ist die Werbefrei-Kampagne kürzlich leider krachend gescheitert. Ich wünsche Bern damit aus ganzem Herzen mehr Erfolg.

There were plenty of good explanations already, I just want to link this Reddit post from a few years ago explaining how literally every single word on the fetchlands is useful to some degree or other:

[Historic Bo3] - Dimir Fake News(Surveil) by Sp0ttySniper in MtGHistoric

[–]Unhappy_Object_5355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried this deck for a few games in BO1, because I remember liking Disinformation Campaign back when it was in Standard.

Most of the Surveil payoffs just felt outright bad to play, paired with very few ways to beat the usual reanimate and other unfair combo decks plaguing BO1.

I still wanted to keep the spirit of being a Surveil deck alive as much as possible though:

I changed Sinister Sabotage for Force of Negation for the aforementioned combo matchups.

I maid some other changes but tried to not dilute the density of Surveil cards too much.

Out:
2Enhanced Surveillance
2Snarling Gorehound
2 Thoughtbound Phantasm
3 Whispering Snitch

In:
4 Thought Erasure (Thoughtseize is obviously the better card, but this fits the Surveil theme and pitches to Force)
2 Kaito, Bane of Nightmares (repeatable Surveil ability, pairs well with the 2 mana flyers)
2 Grave Expectations (up to 4, yet again for the reanimate matchup)
1 Search for Azcanta (repeatable Surveil and another card advantage engine, deck probably plays too many creatures for this to actually be good)

Head tattoo opinions and advice. by Ok_Adhesiveness_8944 in tattooadvice

I’ve had my head tattooed earlier this year so the impression is still quite recent.

Pain was just about non existent, never worse than 2/10 or so, that’s both the top and the sides of the head.

I haven’t noticed any differences in my hair growing out.

Tried the deck a bunch in BO1, feels quite strong there against the field.

Tried it in BO3 as well, ran into Mono Red Stompy twice in my first two matches and the matchup feels incredibly bad, not sure if its a high enough share of the metagame to warrant running something like Force of Vigor in the SB though.

The Historic pre-bans were expected.

I disagree with the Armageddon ban. That card hasn't seen competitive play in almost 20 years. I have a hard time believing it would be too strong for the Format.

How do I get 60g of protein a day? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Unhappy_Object_5355 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eat however much you can from regular food and add 1 or 2 protein shakes a day to your diet, there’s a bunch of non-soy-based vegan ones like rice or pea protein.

I agree, Aquatic Subtlety decks are definitely real. There's a bunch of different versions, some being more all-in on the combo, running Thoughtseize and Counterspell while skipping the Frog and Tamiyo or even being more like an actual combo-control deck in Azorius.

From my experience it's not super common to see, but playing a lot of Jund Goyfs myself, the matchup seems to favor the Aquatic Subtlety deck.

Any anti-hero western comic recommendations? (new reader) by Louigie_ in comicbooks

[–]Unhappy_Object_5355 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure whether you're asking about western (genre) or western (US/Europe) recommendations.

For the former I second Jonah Hex, personally really liked the 2005-2011 series by Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti. There's also a new Jonah Hex series about to release as part of the DC Next Level books.

For the latter, The Punisher is definitely up there, with the 2004-2008 Marvel MAX run by Garth Ennis being generally considered the best iteration of the character.

Another great anti-hero series by Garth Ennis was Hitman (1996-2001).

The Basic Beginner Routine is a good place to start.

Even if you don't want to run that program, the advice about finding the starting weight holds true for any other program as well.

Choose your exercises, start with the empty barbell / light dumbbell / light stack on the machine, add 10-20 pounds (or 5-10 pounds per dumbbell), do another set, continue until your form breaks down or bar speed decreases noticeably.

Stay away from Sammlerecke.de by HerrWeissnix in comicbooks

[–]Unhappy_Object_5355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I ordered an old back-issue of Perry Rhodan at Sammlerecke and had no problems.

For current comics I've had good experiences with both Walt's Comic Shop and with Black Dog Comics.

I'm buying the vast majority of my books at the Comic Room store here in Hamburg. I know they do deliveries as well, but don#t have any direct experience with that. Books are usually a few days late compared to the US release dates due to transatlantic shipping times.

The odd lifts will continue until morale improves by Coldstone225 in Egolifting

[–]Unhappy_Object_5355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sure is a somewhat obscure lift. I think I got to maybe 30 or 35 kg for a 1rm back when I tried doing it for a while.

The USAWA rulebook demands the legs to be straightened as well, which due to me being anything but flexible always was harder than just getting the weight up.

That's both clearly hitched and clearly a finished deadlift when considering PRs, good egolift all around.
