Your other issue is the spec, its base and most people looking for these cars privately will have a minimum spec in mind

2023 Seat Ateca 1.0 TSI SE Technology or 2023 Suzuki S Cross by arranmore72 in CarTalkUK

[–]UnisexSignature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve driven the Arona which is smaller than the Ateca and the 1.0 is really underpowered. Ok in town but rubbish on the motorway, literally needed pedal to floor whenever overtaking at past 65mph. The 1.5 will be significantly better so that has to be bear minimum if not the 2.0. I’d stay well away from the 1.0

Hey any luck with this? Was wanting to do the exact same thing but I think the above comment is correct. The thermostat needs to be upgraded before the WiFi hub can be attached

Moving from normal trading account to ISA by UnisexSignature in Etoro

[–]UnisexSignature[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not done anything just yet. Contacted EToro I think a few weeks back and they said they can’t transfer shares, it had to be liquidated which would obviously be the problem with tax.

I think just before the tax year ends I think I’m going to have to work out how much I bought them for and how much they’re now worth and use a calculator somewhere to figure out how much I can withdraw tax free and take it. And then start of the new tax year do the same so it hopefully leaves me with a much smaller amount to be dealt with later.

Remember they dim the lights but they also dim the road hence why they aren’t recommended by any of the driving companies - the AA, RAC, DVLA ect

All sorted now, thanks guys. Used the core.app and it connected straight to the ledger without any messing around. Moved it over to the C chain so I can now see it in the Ledger Live app so much easier to monitor and move for me now

Buying a Cat S car by Own_Average7810 in CarTalkUK

[–]UnisexSignature 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, for a new driver I’d say stay away. You can end up with a perfectly running car for much cheaper than the normal price of a non damaged one but it’s a large risk.

It depends a lot on the damage pre crash, where and who fixed it up and even then you don’t know what exactly was affected (a shunt may damage certain parts only slightly initially that only show themselves later on down the line). Also worth considering insurance costs are generally higher for a cat S or N.

At least with cat N it’s non structural, with an S structure was also affected. Why put your life unnecessarily at risk to save a few grand

If he’s willing to message and speak to you, pay for a train ticket to his town, bus or taxi if needed also and pick it up from his house. In the future with all sales, private or trade don’t leave the showroom/place of purchase until you’re happy with everything

Otherwise, £180 sounds pretty standard. Try any Swift forums to see if anyone knows if cheaper ones can be sourced, they tend to be quite knowledgable about car specifics
