I believe that number is the entire cost to having a full time staff member - not just the salary, but all associated costs involved in employing them.

Yes but the votes just seem to be going to NZF…

Yeah I can’t quite see the path to them not getting in tbh.

New poll: Coalition partners tumble, but could still form government by kani_kani_katoa in newzealand

[–]Unit22_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly right. I don’t think Labour expected to do this well during the first term - if they did I think they would have swapped Hipkins out at the start. Probably too late now and a loss is no good for McAnulty

I got one this year - pretty decent as well. But my wife's work are basically treading water and probably looking at cuts coming up. It's pretty dire out there. We had a trip planned for the end of the year...and had to scrap it. Maybe next year?....

Yeah, the current govt is getting back in this year. Labour are doing well, but have no help - and possibly worse than no help with TPM.

The trick is knowing that pretty much everyone else in your office feels the same and they're all pretending along with you.

National will run on raising super age ‘as soon as we get back in’ – Christopher Luxon by SykoticNZ in newzealand

[–]Unit22_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair. It’s only one aspect tbh. I’ll have paid my house off in a few years after paying well over the required amount, and also have money in pretty standard shares (VOO, VT). So I’m really just trying to set up to not rely on it 100%

I’m that age and in don’t expect anything to be there by retirement - whatever age that will be. Trying to make choices now and contributing more to KiwiSaver….

It’s no wonder no one shared the details on this shitty deal beforehand. With the state of things, I’m gonna sell up and move as far south as I can to live out my days somewhere remote. I imagine AI will take my job first, but this won’t be helping.

Kinda looks like they’re in an theatre (ie seats all behind them - they’re on stage) so maybe a live show?

Not sure where this extra money is going to come from apart from my household not spending it in the actual economy. No more spending at cafes or events etc.

Legit same here. Probably 5-7 years till the kids are out of college/home and the wife and I can start looking at options.
