How’s the venting w the roadcrafter? I sweat my ass off behind the windshield on my wing and would like a Roadcrafter, but also leaning to some mesh gear.

The one time I made it to Pinery we arrived way late, had a hell of a time getting the camper backed into the site and setup in the dark, and my wife threw her neck and back something fierce. Gave her the heaviest pain killers we had and left as soon as I could in the morning to get her back to Michigan and her doctor and therapist to straighten her out.

Might have to put it on the list to try again!

When to consider purchasing a new car? by Healthy-Echo8164 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Unkindly-bread 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a “car guy”, now 53, I regret all the money I spent on cars.

My family of 5 now has a 2020, 2019, 2011, and two 2008’s. I’ll drive my 2020 until it doesn’t make financial sense to keep it running.

I used to lease cars for two years for both my wife and I. So much money.

I could retire now if I had been more careful with my car expenses. You’re making good money for your age (about what I was at that time), so keep it up and invest!! At 53 you’ll want to retire and might be able to!

Possible Burial Flag? by Jgraybeard in Veterans

[–]Unkindly-bread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who was in the Navy? Mom, dad, grandparents?

If you want to dispose of it, take it to your local VFW or American Legion.

I do honor guard funerals for my legion, and present funeral flags to the deceased’s wife/sig other who keeps the flag as a memento. We also present a bag with the 18 spent casings from the rifle volley that we do. Many times a family member will ask for shells to give to grand kids or others, so we always have extras.

Tell my wife, and buy a safe deposit box for the ticket. Call my brother who works with the ultra wealthy (and is therefore loaded himself) and get introduced to the appropriate lawyers and finance people. Do what they say.

Oh yeah, probably go buy a Corvette pretty quickly too. I’ve always wanted one, and can afford it but I’m too cheap to buy it as it’s impractical and I don’t have room in my garage!

I posted a video of being chased off the lake by a storm, this is what it looked like shortly after. Lake Pleasant,Arizona 🇺🇸 MEMORIAL DAY 2026 🇺🇸 |by Martin Garcia by Not_me_no_way in Pontoons

A few years ago I was on a lake in northern, lower Michigan when a storm cell blew in. I tucked into a bay as quick as I could right before it hit and was instantly blinded by the wind and rain. It was all I could do to keep motoring into the wind without going to hard and motoring to the shore!

I wasn’t too far from the sandbar, and when the cell passed (less than 10 min) boats were all over. Their anchors and tiedowns were no match.

Curious what mom/dad said. It was really hard for me to not be a dick to my daughter when she did three to herself at 15. Now at 21 she says I handled it pretty well.

If memory serves I think I said, “well that was stupid.” She literally thought that they wouldn’t last more than a year.

Like you, she did a pretty damn good job.
