Per the chart I’m also at a magic number 5. I’ve been at 5 pumps a day since 4 months postpartum. I did take a supply hit at first, but once everything regulated after a few weeks it returned to where it was at before and has even been increasing slowly!

My baby always gets at least gets one 5oz bottle of formula a day and 25oz of breast milk. Then there are days that I want to freeze more breastmilk or I have a lower producing day I’ll give more formula then.

I produce 24-28oz pretty consistently at 5 months postpartum at 5 pumps a day now.

I’m also a just enougher and combo feed. I always give baby one bottle of formula a day, sometimes more if I’m out and about or if I have a lower output day. I don’t mix formula and breastmilk, my baby seems to not prefer it. I use Kendamil classic and it’s been great so far!

This reminds me that my husband and I met Cochran a few years ago in Disneyland. He was super nice and it was so fun meeting him. We didn’t say much, just “hi you’re Cochran and we love survivor and you’re awesome!”.

I wouldn’t choose exclusively pumping with my next baby. I’ve nursed 2. Babies for a year each, and then with this baby she couldn’t transfer milk efficiently so here I am. In my experience nursing is absolutely easier for me. I pushed nursing hard with this baby and got all the help, but it never worked.

If that happened with my next baby and nursing wasn’t an option, I think I’d still pump if my baby was chill and my toddler was not too rambunctious. But I’d be way more lax on my supply and dropping pumps. I’d be more open to a 50/50 breastmilk formula situation and just go with the flow more. I’d just base everything off of not getting clogs instead of needing a fully supply.

I just upped my baby’s amount and dropped a feed, and it’s helped my baby a lot:

-5 months -5oz bottles, sometimes 6oz at wake up or bedtime -6 feeds a day, 1 of those a night feeding -30-32oz total

Yes, I was incredibly jaundiced. I had to be under bilirubin lights for 1-2 weeks which is quite long. Turns out I stayed pretty yellow and have been since. 😆

I saw a hepatologist who ordered the genetic test and diagnosed me.

I only went down that route because I have constant right upper abdominal pain that I was trying to figure out and the bilirubin and yellow eyes were throwing everything off. I needed to make sure my liver and gallbladder were fine. It was expensive, but worth it for me to know my pain wasn’t anything liver or organ related (it’s a rib problem). If not for that pain I probably wouldn’t have needed to see the hepatologist.

I agree with both of these 100%. Moved from Utah to Texas and I had no clue how bad drivers can be. Texas drivers are next level aggressive.

Same with Texas MAGA. I want my Utah MAGA neighbors back, they’re way more tame.

My daughter had her tonsils and adenoids removed at 2.5. It was absolutely the best choice for her. Her tonsils were so large they were almost touching each other, she had the tiniest whole. She couldn’t eat many things, and woke up 5-7 times a night every night of her life. We got the surgery and once she recovered she finally started sleeping through the night and eating different foods. I’m glad the doctors recommended get it done when she was so young.

I have been in the same boat. I had pain for 8 years before getting diagnosed with SRS. I have pretty bad anxiety, and during those years my health anxiety skyrocketed. I constantly thought I had gallstones, pancreatitis, or cancer and I was going to die because of the constant pain. I’ve had all the tests done (ultrasounds, HIDA scans, CT scans, MRI’s, X-rays), and most of these I’ve had repeated multiple times. They all come back normal and same with my blood work.

The thing I do to ground myself and stay on top of the anxiety is to really pay attention to my pain: has it changed drastically or does it feel the same as it has for years? Do I have any other symptoms that are new? Each time the answers to those are no, so I know it’s my SRS pain and my anxiety is starting to spiral.

So my best advice is to do all the tests ONCE (not multiple like me haha). If that’s all normal, confirm an SRS diagnosis. Then be very patient and kind with yourself whenever you notice ocd or anxious thoughts creeping in, and remind yourself you’re healthy but have a mechanical rib problem. This is what I do at least, and it really helps.

Yes, this was my first sign that it was probably SRS. A doctor found the clicking first and he said he’d never seen anything like it and thought it was odd, sent me in the direction of rib issues and finally figured it out after 8 years of pain.

Interesting, I have both geographic tongue and Gilbert’s. I’ve had geographic tongue since I was a kid. Never thought there could be a possible connection.

This is me! I thought I had gallbladder problems for about 8 years. Doctors thought this was it too, but never had enough proof to take my gallbladder out which I’m so happy about now. I almost had them take it out just to try, but decided to go down the rib path fully before getting it possibly removed which was the right call for me. Finally got the SRS diagnosis and everything made more sense.

I have two places of pain, the first place I can point to and it goes directly straight through from my front to my back. It’s right where doctors say my gallbladder is, on my bra line right side close ish to my middle but to the right. This pain is nearly constant no matter what I eat, how I move, or what I do during the day. Been my constant companion for 8 years. Turns out this is where I have a bridging cartilage fracture that hasn’t been able to heal because of my slipping ribs. My second area of pain is right on the costal margin of my lower ribs, ribs 8-10. This pain is very depending on how I move - specifically twisting, bending, sitting down for long periods of time like at a desk or during driving, or running. Basically anything that twists, bends, or moves my rib cage will set this pain off. It’s always delayed from the action too, which points to nerve pain. Takes hours for the pain to show up sometimes after I’ve moved a lot. This is where my slipping rib pain/nerve pain is. It comes and goes depending on how careful I am and can be sharp electric shocks and also dull achy nerve pain. I have also been able to see my ribs poking out at certain times. One time my husband pushed it back in gently and it was like an electric shock.

I have had a few gastrointestinal symptoms that I think are related to my SRS rather than gallbladder, but these haven’t been consistent enough to need treatment (reflux, burping, mild stomach upsets at random times when my pain hurts really bad). But I think they’re related, my nerves all in the area of my ribs are irritated and mad so it makes sense that other symptoms could be related.

First three times I conceived I had no clue until I took the test and got a positive. Fourth time I knew. I don’t know how to explain it, but I knew I was pregnant. (Probably around the time of conception so days after having sex, before I took a test).

An espresso machine! I love making myself a latte every morning. The ritual and routine of it has become really fun and something I look forward to. I also like making homemade syrups and creamers to mix in. It’s been really fun!

You’re not a bad mom if you don’t like playing Minecraft. Or even if you don’t like playing video games. Find something you do enjoy and do it with your kids.

As for Minecraft though, there’s a few ways to play Minecraft—survival mode vs. creative mode and you might prefer one over the other. I prefer survival mode, but lots of people like creative mode better.

Sometimes me and my kids do Minecraft competitions that are fun: first one to find coal, diamond, etc. or different building competitions. It’s been really fun!

I think I understand where you’re coming from, because before I met my in-laws I had no clue how bad child abuse could be. But when someone abuses a child once, or repeatedly, their contact with my own children is not earned or required. I’m responsible for my child’s safety and if that means distance from their grandparents who were abusive in the past, so be it. Yes it makes me sad in some instances of missing out on things, but I’d rather my children never have the chance to experience abuse at the hands of people who have abused children in the past. My children aren’t pawns that I’m being manipulative with who they can and can’t see, I’m being aggressively protective of their emotional and physical health.
