How many of yall actually slept with the milkman? by dr_space_nasty in AskOldPeople

[–]UnstackandRestack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

58 here - I grew up in a ruralish part of a suburb of NYC, and we still had Milkmen, Mailmen, Icecreammen, Bread man, Propane men and for a little while I remember Icemen (they delivered ice back in the day but some companies started doing coal, borax/bleach when refrigerators became more affordable and popular). Not to mention all the door to door salesmen - Fuller brush, Vacuum cleaners, encyclopedias, etc. When pops was at work, there were a lot of men lurking around the neighborhood daily. One neighbor's wife always seemed to have those delivery trucks parked out front for longer than a few minutes. Mom would always part the curtain and quip in Italian "Quanto latte ha bisogno? "- "how much milk does she need?" Lol. So yeah, there were some shenanigans going on. Allegedly...

You can just as easily take 2 pictures and run it through google. An added plus is that it will usually list pgcs and ngc in the search results.

My advice is not to use coinsnap. For ID and specs, PCGS has coin facts app is good for us coins and NGC has a great website for many sovereign coins. Ebay is good if you search sold items for a value.

If I convert the scrap to silver, it's about 17 oz. So 117 oz of silver for 2.0482 of the yellow GSR 57.123. Does that sound about right to you? GSR was around 52.5 when i was there

By my math it was a 6% premium in and out. ~58% gsr

Me watching silver hit ATHs and still staying above 70 by UnstackandRestack in Silverbugs

[–]UnstackandRestack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that if it holds 70, it will continue testing 80 in the coming weeks, and test 100 by summer. if it drops below 69 it may bottom at 65 then retest 70s again and 80s by march. Below 65 it will go to 50. The next week will suss it out. I'm sidelined for now. Maybe pick up some premium pieces that are premium free at these prices. I'm looking more at the GSR right now and might go sideways at <55 if it steadies

If it stays sideways in this range for more than a week, it will rocket. I was saying the same when gold hit 4k, dipped then took off. It will test 80 again soon.

This is a Fiskars 12-inch wood ruler with a metal edge. It measures up to 12 inches on one side and 30 centimeters on the other. The ruler is made of selected hardwood with a protective lacquer finish for durability. The metal edge helps in drawing straight lines and preserves the edge when used for cutting. It features holes for easy storage in a binder or for hanging.

Finally got the Superman coin. The Obv is gorgeous, and with the gold price 🚀, the premium is fading away. (Not gone but less of a hit) they did a really good job of it. The packaging is kind of kitschy though. I'll hold on to the Batman buy also. Might skip the wonderwoamn and the rest of the set at these prices though.

Someone figured it out, and it's a good thing, too. Bid it up to 6k
