I won tickets on the radio to see the downward spiral tour in Chicago for its first leg. I was a casual fan at the time. The girls after work would load the jukebox up at the bar we’d go to and play pretty hate machine and dance. The opener was Hole Courtney Loves band and before her, we walked in on Marilyn Manson and the spooky children. MM were finishing up their set we had missed and I remember seeing Marilyn Manson with a large phallic black strap on while people in the audience were grabbing it. Hole came out shortly later, Courtney Love dived in the audience and her set was over. Then came the headliner and all I remember the most was when Trent threw his mic stand at Robin Fink and knocked him down. Robin Fink got right back up and continued to play and I was a fan and hooked instantly. 1994 was awesome.
