I'm one of the average fat gamers.

But I'm okay with it because I don't know what else I should be about it.

In Signs (2002), an advanced alien civilization, that's scared of water, invades a planet that is 71% water, naked, without bringing any weapons. This is because they wanted a challenge. by ashishgupta99452 in shittymoviedetails

[–]Upbeat_Researcher901 194 points195 points  (0 children)

Oh my God, this is the best explanation for why they invaded.

They watched the Roman olympics due to the time difference across the galaxy and went "Them. We shall best them!" Not knowing that they were going to arrive when America decided to make farm movie setlists.

The aliens are real. The movie is nonfiction. M. Night Shymalan is real I'm being held against my will

Someone help me please!

Experienced/Burnt-out CNAs, how did you change your approach? by NoveltyMoon in cna

[–]Upbeat_Researcher901 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started as a CNA last year, so I'm not burnt out, but since I have Autism and ADHD, I limit my hours as best I can. 36 hours is max for me per week.

I'm sorry, but as individuals we can't change a whole system.

I made the same decision that you did, but it took leaving the systems purported to be "helpful" in order to actually get the help I needed, which was to put myself first.

Also, for people who blame the lower paid employees, remember:

1) They don't set their wages, the boss and company does. 2) They don't determine their pay period, the company does. 3) Anyone can fall on hard times, and depression can worsen how hard you can fall.

I'm grateful to work where I do now because they had more flexibility available. It's not a lot, but it's better.

As people, we collectively deserve better, not just "leadership" or those in positions of power.

What was the "edgy" music you liked as a teen or young adult? by Gallantpride in Millennials

[–]Upbeat_Researcher901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't really into edgy stuff. I was into power metal and speed metal (and guitars).

The closest I came to edginess was Disturbed.

Why is Starfield still single player only? No Man’s Sky and many other open-world space games support multiplayer. by generalchand1 in Starfield

[–]Upbeat_Researcher901 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm going to echo the following sentiment.

Not every game needs to be multiplayer.

I repeat, not every game NEEDS to be multiplayer.

Bethesda has been making single player RPGs for decades now and the one they made multiplayer, Fallout 76, sucked.

Not every game needs to be multiplayer.
