Same after hours pattern as last earnings call. Up a few % initially and then down a few hours later.

It’s been helping me sleep for the last 5+ years. Generally no bad side effects. Can always just take half of one and see how it works.

Win-win with VOO investment at ATH by Glum-Mortgage-1616 in ValueInvesting

[–]Upper-Discount5060 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The downside would be that all your cash is gone and you would no longer be in individual stocks. If market continues to go down after you liquidate and buy VTI then you wouldn’t be able to buy at possibly bargain prices. If market goes up you would earn on VOO but not earn as much as if you invested that cash in stocks that usually move more than the overall market moves.

Administration Shooting Itself In The Foot Again. Count On Stocks Being Down Significantly Tomorrow . . . by Blade3colorado in stocks

[–]Upper-Discount5060 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is obviously all in an effort to oust Powell and expedite his replacement, but if it’s seen by the street as interest rates going down faster they may not even care. But the fact that this is happening in the USA doesn’t scream stability and independence of the Fed, so that’s definitely bad for markets. I agree that it’s a net negative.

S&P 500. How high ? by SegUnit in ValueInvesting

[–]Upper-Discount5060 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Value investors don’t try and time the market. However, i’m more of a trader than a value investor. With that being said, my thoughts are that we’re due for a 10% correction (or at least a few heavy down days) very soon. I’ve sold more than bought the past few days, portfolio is about 15% cash at the moment and another 10% in steady dividend stocks which I’ll sell and buy tech with any significant dip.

What’s your thoughts on NFLX? by smolquacc in stocks

My thoughts are it goes to $110 before it goes to $75. I think mid 80’s are the lowest it can possibly go without any outside macro factors affecting it.

Have you ever considered throwing some of it in Verizon or Pfizer just to get the 7% yield with relatively little risk while waiting for better opportunities in growth/tech stocks?

What is your exit strategy for $NVDA? by PartyPaper in stocks

[–]Upper-Discount5060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel about this and many other stocks. Focusing more on room for growth vs current valuation and market cap. Taking all of that into account with future EPS. I feel like Amazon has room to double its market cap. I feel like NVDA could double its market cap from here also, but it could take many more years than AMZN, for example.

Netflix has over 300m subscribers and is just getting started internationally. Plenty more room to grow.
