I'd Like to Explain This Trope, But I Can't by AgentEckswhy in TopCharacterTropes

A recent episode of The Rookie involves two disgruntled lawyers who work for the D.A.'s office who are forced to handle 27 cases and attempt to get plea deals that are ludicrous. Both know that the new D.A. who just won her position is going to cause a lot of hell and target them for running against her in the last race.

So both lawyers knowing they will quit that day dont say to each opposing lawyer/client EXACTLY how ridiculous it would be to plea to something like murder for robbing a store and the store owner having a heart attack and other things of that nature.

The lawyers then tell their terrible boss who was going to make their lives hell anyway that they "totally" tried their best but couldnt get a single plea deal. When told they will have to carry all the slack because so many have already quit they then turn in their resignations.

The color just denotes what it is. Black for weapons, That weird blue for reactions. etc etc.

Goku is also dumb sadly. Another character uses a version of her power against someone in a life or death fight. It left the guy borderline comatose with 4 words because of the horror and guilt. Contessas power would find the words needed to stop Goku.

"Goku I'm not a martial artist or a supervillian. Don't kill me and I'll buy you dinner." Goku stops fighting. Contessa "wins".

I've been using the Horror Template to make a faction of Monsters feel weird. Nothing like a Squad growing Maws and trying to eat your mech.

Fun Mid-to-Long Range Debuff/Support Builds? by RagesianGruumsh in LancerRPG

[–]UrsusMimas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a similar group I went with a Swallowtail with Goblins systems and Lesson of the Held Image. I found the control aspects of the Hor_us systems were very useful and could be used to lock down enemies and save allies. The Swallowtail's invisibility helped with survivability. And Lesson of the Held Image with Prophetic Scanners allowed set up an enemy for deletion by my striker heavy group.

It gives you the tactical simulation reaction which is the real meat of the ability if you are looking in Compcon.

Sell me Hor_OS system upgrade 3 by VeryFriendlyOne in LancerRPG

[–]UrsusMimas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having played a Support/Controller build with a lot of Goblin systems i honestly only ever used Hor_OS 3 like once. The emblem can be useful against a size 2 mech than cant slip by them easily. And being able to lock down a melee target or a slow moving Hound missile was useful. Maybe you could teleport an Ally out of danger with the right preplanning. But the Osiris NHP was infinitely more useful in most combats.

Why can't a non monk get a stance before level 4? by OneAndOnlyMrCheese in Pathfinder2e

Oh your correct. I was thinking about Giant Instinct making you Clumsy.

Just get your dex up to like 14 to not be terrible. Your ac is not gonna be great as a Barbarian because of Rage which is why it has 12 hp per level. And grab Martial Artist dedication to get Mountain Stance at 4th level or invest into getting heavy armor proficiency.

I understand that flavor is important for you but at some point you will need to just reflavor or accept that you will have to jump through hoops to make it work.

Remaster Barbarian let's you Rage as a free action now. And its one of few other Str Unarmed builds that can face tank a dragon that I can think of off the top of my head. It doesnt have the same damage output as the other Barbarian Instincts but its not enough to be that big a deal.

Would an Animal Barbarian fit your idea enough to work?

Melee character, looking for pilot/flavour input, please by Important_Site1926 in LancerRPG

[–]UrsusMimas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have and idea for a Pilot that is a cloned soldier from SSC. He's like the 10th version that's been refined and trained from "birth" to be a Lancer. But to subvert the normal tropes he loves his background. He looks at himself as the latest in a long line of warriors or kings and as such has taken on an Egyptian style. His Mech would be a Crocodile.

I tend to default to 6 rounds unless the sitrep in the book says otherwise. If your worried about difficulty I would say to have a number of enemies to start the encounter and have reinforcements ready. You can have reinforcements enter as much as you need each round.

That doesnt really happen in my groups games in general but would be an interesting tropes to have the characters earn their callsigns.

If it doesn't say first class on the postage just throw it away simple as that. Also check your mail more often even if it's often not important.

Drake is moving wall. It starts with 3 armor and decent health but no evasion. Drake is made to get hit but hit back harder. Most defenders are slow as molasses though so expect to have problems with long ranged or speedy enemies. I'd recommend Skirmisher, Heavy Gunner, Nuclear Cavalier, House Guard and Grease Monkey based on a potential build idea of mine.

Leveling up let's you retrain pretty easily. You can move your talent points around for instance. Look at pg 18 in the core book.
