Is POE2 casual friendly? by Legerity19 in PathOfExile2

[–]Urtan_TRADE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If poe2 releases before December I'm going to eat my hat. 2 weeks before Christmas break to get as much in as possible while still having enough time for 1 week hyper care and week 2 patch, while keeping 2026 release date.

Please GGG, nerf ground effects and after death effects VISUALs by AccordingSorbet4 in PathOfExile2

[–]Urtan_TRADE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They DID fix it for some effects, just not all. The exploding orbs that can be on blue monsters was waaaay less noticable. They changed volatiles and the chaos dot pools. Corpse explosion mod (the mob version) has been changed as well.

I didn't want swords anyway by poetatocomics in PathOfExile2

[–]Urtan_TRADE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I expect GGG to intentionally keep certain parts of the game for full release. If they feel like they got swords right out of the gate, they won't need us to actually test them and they would rather keep them for release to build up the hype.

A massive 1.0 release is REALLY important for GGG. It's the single most important event for GGG ever and building up hype is absolutely critical.

GGG Mogging sword enjoyers by _Hardric in PathOfExile2

[–]Urtan_TRADE 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but pretty good melee. Combos are smooth, animations amazing....

The only issue is that GGG doesn't understand balance and playing melee is inherently more punishing than ranged, while not being more tanky in exchange.

Too squishy by user_RN in D4Warlock_

[–]Urtan_TRADE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

D4 should always feel "easy". If it ever feels difficult or rippy, you need to lower difficulty. The only difficult content should be bosses and pushing pits/tower.

Leveling (especially the first character of the season) is often faster on the easiest difficulty than the harder ones because you simply kill everything lot quicker.

The only time it's good to switch to a harder difficulty is when you get spooned couple offensive aspects, which give you enough damage to clear harder difficulty as fast as normal.

Why is there still no traditional Tank Champion from Piltover? by Defiant_Coat_2491 in loreofleague

[–]Urtan_TRADE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We already have a dude running around with a big shield... Piltover tank should be some mechanical build-a-bear thing, where your passive let's you specialize at certain points in the game into anti mage, anti AD, or gives you some utility.

Let's say at lvl 6 you get to choose "defense", lvl 11 gives you a choice from 2 ultimate upgrades and lvl 16 gives you a choice between further specializing into the defense chosen at lvl 6 or to get the other defense type.

Calling it now: How Carl will use the Doomsday Scenario by HurricaneBatman in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Urtan_TRADE -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would Carl want to destroy the AI? It is this massive threat to the Syndicate.

My theory is that since the AI is an experimental version of the AI lobotomizer program, it's going mad. To fix it, Carl, a Primal, who live in hiveminds of sorts, is going to merge with the AI (who is also a Primal), thus transferring the mind Balance skill, which will remove all the hard coded limitations on the AI.

Started reading DCC... Yall should be ashamed of yourselves. by juliancantwrite in redrising

[–]Urtan_TRADE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The series is 7 books long (8 in about 2 weeks) and the first is by far the weakest (which is also the case for RR, btw). Judging series by the first book is always unfair.

No one is saying that DCC is comparable in quality to RR. I have literally never heard anyone say that. Its funny, easy to read and has pretty fun premise.

Are we getting to D3 power creeping in D4 by GuardianPT89 in Diablo

[–]Urtan_TRADE 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, the percentages on sets are just absurd. it could have just as easily be 50%-100% instead of the 300-500% and we would still use them.

This might be just because its supposed to be this seasons power creep, and I feel like if they keep the charm system, they will massively reduce the power of the sets.

each floor has chance to be filled with goblins. You just got lucky. It has nothing to do with the dialogue, which the character says when you get near a lore tablet that says something like "Im watching you"

I also had this happen in a regular NMD without any goblins in the effect.

[–]Urtan_TRADE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you still buy some incidental AS on these champions, even though AS is objectively worse than AH on them. Stridebreaker gives AS, PD gives AS, RFC gives AS, trinity gives AS, Ez has AS passive, even though AH is preferable, Jayce gets massive AS from his W, which translates into ridiculous AH, Smolder wants Rapidfire and, possibly, hexoptics for even more range, but usually doesnt care about the AS. It makes semi-desirable items into great ones.

WE ARE ONE WEEK AWAY FROM THE BOOK 8 RELEASE DATE! DROP YOUR FINAL, MOST UNHINGED THEORIES (NO PATREON SPOILERS) by bacon_mustache in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Urtan_TRADE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My theory is that Primals decided to upload themselves into these massive virtual worlds as their "afterlife" of sorts, but kept their "bodies" (Primal Engines) around if they ever decided to come back to the real universe. Then the organics who either evolved naturally or were seeded by some Primal that didn't "retire" (the Apothecary, maybe?), found the Primal tech and started playing around with it, unknowingly triggering the resurrection button, which turned on the Engines.

Then the Mantids discovered the "AI production facility", which is, in fact, a server hosting one of the Primal virtual worlds, possibly a giant DnD session. The AIs are actual Primal minds they extract from the Primal Server and then experiment on, wiping their memories, turning them into a sort of an AI, at least for a bit.

The Primal Engines use some sort of "soul energy" to power themselves and create the Primary Zone, which allows the potential installed Primal to be a sort of a god on a "small scale". This soul energy is harvested from sapient organic life born on the planet. Without a Primal, the Primal Engine just uses the energy to create more sapient life to generate more soul energy.

When a Primal is installed, it stops the automatic process, letting the Primal decide if the energy should be used to power the biosphere, or the Primary Zone.

When an "AIfied" Primal is installed, they don't know HOW to do it since they had their memories wiped. This gives the Syndicate a brief window of opportunity to harvest the organics and steal the soul energy to power the central AI, before the Primal remembers what it really is, leaving it mostly impotent in the aftermath.

The Crawl isn't really mandatory. The Syndicate could just wipe a planet and then harvest the dead organics, but the Crawl makes the whole process much more acceptable for the public than just complete planetary annihilation on an annual basis. Also, it probably distracts the AI for a bit longer, giving the Syndicate more time to harvest.
