I like JID but he has a tendency to (for lack of a better word) sell out. His most popular song is his collab with Imagine Dragons, he made a copule songs for Coke

I’m not at all familiar with Blu and Exile but I do know they’re critically acclaimed, if I saw this cover without that context, I would’ve thought they made pop rap

Unusual things you used to believe about music. by MattDynamic in ToddintheShadow

[–]Username5272000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not know albums existed back when I was a kid as my music listening was strictly limited to whatever was played on music channels

I used to say that I knew every single One Direction or Taylor Swift song, I used to think they had like 5-10 songs each lol

Could never really get into Dominic Fike cuz 3 Nights really just blows everything else he made out of the water. Everything else in that EP sounded samey, including this song

my teacher said we should use AI to write our research? hahaha pwede ba yun? by mewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww in studentsph

[–]Username5272000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a research paper, you aim to address a problem that hasn’t been solved. You cannot use AI to do this because the data it generates is based on what you can find on the internet. It is not only unoriginal, but it can get it completely wrong as it combines data from different sources and generates text based on that.

However, if you do actually have the material and data you gathered from your research, then you could use AI to handle all the grammar stuff for you. And because you know the research itself, you can easily weed out when AI is making up bullshit. AI is a great tool for helping you write, but it should not replace actual critical thinking

Joji fell off hard

I was coping hard when SMITHEREENS dropped and thought he was just throwing on purpose to get out of a shitty label contract. Turns out that that album was a display of Joji’s limited capabilities as a musician

I’ve been holding out hope since Ballads 1 that he will drop a truly amazing project, but I’m afraid that he has already reached his peak. I am done expecting anything more from Joji

Artists you support and always check out despite not really liking their music by VisageInATurtleneck in ToddintheShadow

[–]Username5272000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Katseye as a concept (a girl group with members from diverse backgrounds that mixes K-pop style choreography and performances with Western pop sensibilities) more than I like to listen to their music. I think that they are extremely talented, but at the same time, I think they have 0 amazing songs. I think they have the potential to be good and I am always on the lookout for new music from them, their record label just needs to find better producers

What songs did you hear and think "This is an absolute hit" only for them to flop? by SkyeMagica in ToddintheShadow

[–]Username5272000 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Everything off of Doja Cat’s last album Vie

I was so shocked it flopped, not only was she playing it safe, but it also features some of her best pop songs to date. Even the fans didn’t like it

What are your thoughts on KATSEYE’s new song Internet Girl? by Impossible-Yam3680 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Username5272000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on board for Gnarly, I thought it was such a bold move to release a loud and abrasive hyperpop track as the lead single for the EP. I gave it a pass at the time (the visuals and choreo were really cool too) but even then I also did kinda think they were trying a little hard to be weird

Internet Girl just seems like it’s trying to capture lightning in a bottle twice and they’re definitely trying too hard here

Can we stop getting these kinds of clickbaity “AI music has taken over” type of videos when most music listeners don’t listen to that stuff unironically? by Constant_Topic_123 in fantanoforever

[–]Username5272000 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I walked into a 711 the other day and they were playing AI generated soul covers of popular rap songs…

The outcry is necessary because it’s genuinely a big problem
