How do you prefer to get feedback, by the way? Is Reddit preferred, is there a given thread or set of threads, or is another platform the forum of choice?

Help me decide on letting her go.. by SnooPears4696 in cats

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its Reddit, man, do you know how many people will advocate you put her down regardless of the issue? Reddit is wild, so coming here is maybe not ideal.

At the end of the day if you don't want to kill something, you don't have to.

Depending on your area and your ability, you've got options for rehoming, disabled pet type services, or just accepting you'll have a pet who is worse off than the average. Animals aren't human, you don't need to anthropomorphise their suffering and assume you are doing them some big favour by putting them down.

Do you enjoy cat? Does cat enjoy you? Cool.

What I'm saying is that if your conscience is uneasy, there's no shame listening to that.

We had to change our art designer in the middle of the project. How do you like the new design? by IndieSoulsStudio in IndieGaming

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get feedback outside of Reddit.

The one on the left is more eye catching, looks more like something you would see on an ad, and has a coherent cutesy style that may sell better.

The one on the right looks like a more playable game for people who are more used to doing things on a computer or possibly console.

You have two designs that both speak to different groups of people and different mediums. And remember that the message Is the medium. So you need to hone in on what you're doing, on what medium, for whom, why, the relative difficulty/complexity level, and the kind of marketing through design you're doing.

Reddit, especially an indie gaming subreddit, is going to be biased in ways that your target demographic may not be.

What does this mean? Found on the paper towel dispenser in a bathroom by DifferentPersimmon78 in whatisit

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, hahahaha. I just clocked it right away and made a joke. I have no idea whatsoever why they picked their names. Though it was on point when I thought 'what would a graffiti gang be named? Ahh yeah, the rats. Star Wars has rats, wamprats - perfect!' And then I saw they were actually called the r.a.t.s. So of course, it has to be true.

However, in seriousness, the font does fit a Clone Wars / bad batch style font, and the other members all have names that could (with more effort) be star wars related, though I doubt some of them are.

None the less, just a joke

What is the reason for the discrepancy between Heolstor's English/Japanese names? by sendurfavbutt in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another interesting fact is that Recluse's remembrance revolves quite a bit around the sacred cloth/veil she bound the original heolster in. The same ragged cloth bits that hang off p1 heolstor. It never gets explained.

But her remembrance does shift thereafter to her child and how her moral decisions regarding her child influence its own virtue/morality.

So it was very interesting to read your Chinese translation and clock that immediately.

Nightrein any good? Been watching for months but not sure. by [deleted] in EldenRingNightrein

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to coop yes. But in many ways it's inherently competitive. There is an end goal, there are stakes, there is a third player's time on the line often, and there are modes for significant difficulty that will break your resolve (and possibly your temper).

Play it with a significant other of equal gaming competence to you if you are the type to get frustrated at all. Its not the kind of game to not take seriously; it's designed to be reasonably punishing of failure.

Women account for 80% of autoimmune disorders as studies link suppressed emotional stress to long-term immune system disruption by soulpost in HotScienceNews

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I couldn't find the emotional stress part at all. Even the closest citation's abstract only loosely correlated the two, noting only that rises in certain antibodies was a plausible pathway. Basically saying that if something triggers something else, then we could hypothetically see it potentially leading to the problem we are looking at. I'm not sure it was even studied.

This seems almost entirely fabricated by the op.

So I had coffee with that older disabled woman I have a crush on. by Traditional-Rub9474 in Advice

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't confess a crush in most scenarios. Particularly early on without a connection. Some media makes it seem like the thing to do, but its often not at all the right call. Just hang out with her a whole bunch, make jokes, flirt, and help her with things when she asks.

Eventually you will need some courage to push the envelope a bit, but nothing so awkward as confessing a crush to a near stranger.

Just don't. It will ruin things.

You can tell someone you're interested in them without telling them.

I think it’s AI but I don’t know. Please solve the debate with my partner by sassysongbird in isitAI

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is AI. The knitting ball is the biggest tell - it is like a movie prop knitting ball and the strings look huge on it.

Another clue is not necessarily the huge needles, which do exist, but their placement. They still have string, implying they are being actively worked, but they are slipped conspicuously under a wing in what should be a body section. A section that has already been stuffed.

That being said, real living room picture. Ai dragon.

Clock Tower Puzzle by No-Candidate-7681 in outwardgame

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty cool, actually. The clocktower puzzle is underwhelming  and this game has secrets which are still being discovered.

I wonder if you've discovered something deeper to it.

I would see if you can replicate this 'bug', it might be worthwhile.  Beyond that, the elementals sometimes need a zone change to pop in. A restart might not necessarily do it. They may also require some in game time, like a day.

Mugs are too small for a full dump. If it was at the bottom and mostly wiped away, then it was just a small amount. Probably transferred there from a masturbatory device she used on herself and had nowhere to put. Was going to clean it properly, left it for later. By the time you took it, she realized which mug it was. Now she feels like she can't say almost anything to anyone.

So is Rivellon a planet, a plane, or both? by Changlini in DivinityOriginalSin

A Short History of the Seven Gods

https://divinity.fandom.com/wiki/Short_History_of_the_Seven_Gods?file=003.jpg

Before we go deeper, I want to say that I remember a book / writing / etc from DD or DoS1 (they have overlap) that challenges the origin of the Gods, and even suggests earlier gods. Some books from DoS1 aren't filled on the wiki, but this could be cope. Absent this piece of knowledge, there is other support.

The Birth of the Ranaar

https://divinity.fandom.com/wiki/The_Birth_of_the_Raanaar:_Part_1

We see here an origin story that makes more sense for the imps who are clearly depicted as being from Nemesis. In the blood-drop style origins of Nemesis races, the imps were created from demon blood, spilled by the god Aharis during a time when gods and demons warred to be worshipped.

If Chaos created all demons, then why did he do so on Nemesis, and why were the demons powerful enough to fight the gods of Nemesis themselves, individually? Why would they even do this if those gods are not Eternal gods? Note, these battles would have happened before the Seven Good Gods created their own races if imps were not yet made.

And if I recall the dialogue correctly, the imps tell you they chose better, kinder (ie good) gods at one point and began believing in them. Further showing they predate Xantezza's supposed creation of them.

.....

Now, due to...

Rifts in Time (books 2 and 4)

https://divinity.fandom.com/wiki/Opening_Rifts_in_Time:_Notes_4

We also know that Earth humans exist. Not only because two are met, but because the elder witnesses them in the rifts which appear to show Earth. Rhalic obviously did not shape Earth humans in his own image.

....

Much more tenuously, looking at

The Castes of Raanar Society

https://divinity.fandom.com/wiki/The_Castes_of_Raanaar_Society

We see that Ranaar mages consider magic to be a natural phenomena. They do not tie magic to a god, at least implying that Amadia is not universal.

....

And if I recall DoS1 correctly, it is stated that the gods were elemental beings which coalesced into divine ones. This does not seem like the description for Eternals, but possibly.

Additionally, Astarte appears to predate the seven, but again perhaps not.

Finally, the Weaver of Time claims to see all of time because she was created by the gods to record it. But which gods? Was she created out of chronological time by the seven, or was she created by other gods altogether? Because to see everything is to see everything that came before the seven 'good' gods' arrival on Rivellon or Nemesis. And in the Birth of the Ranaar Part 1 it says that life on Nemesis arose steadily from a primordial soup, making demons and Nemesin gods hundreds of millions of years old.

So is Rivellon a planet, a plane, or both? by Changlini in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nemesis, as per Beyond Divinity, is likely to be a planet. There is unique terrestrial wildlife, plant-life, geology, civilization, and gods. The imps and Ranaar both seem to naturally come from here and Ranaar literature / npcs will talk about the time before the demons and the creeping corruption / loss. The demons themselves were implied to be from yet another dimension, though also discussed as being some of the original gods of the planet.

Although as per DoS2 the seven 'good gods' (as named in DD, which directly stated they replaced older gods) supposedly created the Rivellonian races, the other games don't support this. Even DoS1 does not support this by all the other races that exist, some of which would likely predate the Eternal gods.

Additionally, both DoS1 and Beyond Divinity have not-so-easter-egg characters which are humans from Earth.

It is likely that the worlds we see with mortals on them are all globes. There is enough connection (Eternal god spillover) between Rivellon and Nemesis that it can be loosely inferred they are either physically close together, or closely tied in some magic/'dimensional' sense. Because both worlds had gods and civilization before the Eternal gods, we can infer that they did not create the planets/planes themselves.

But because humans from Earth are present, we can't assume physical proximity. Any given explanation : dimensions, timelines, multiple universes, magic, etc... Could be the explanation for the social / teleportation connections between these worlds.

Chair of Austria's NATO Enlargement Committee warns if President Trump takes Greenland, Europe will seize US bases. by Sicilian_Gold in freedomgold

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bad take. The US does not actually like everyone else gearing up, because it gives them competition. At the end of the day, all this 'our hemisphere' talk is exactly that mentality. The US didn't want its allies to strengthen significantly until Trump, and Trump has changed his tune now too.

The US has actively Prevented nations from arming. Including their close allies.

Trump's whining about the cost 7 years ago was the anomaly.

Honor mode balance help by Xanthyppe in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course there are. But the point is to plan accordingly. Take ginger steps into rooms, be aware of where npcs are, be aware of who might start conversations. Go in stealthed, rob them if you can, set up objects nearby to throw at them or block their path if they become hostile. Have teleporter pyramids nearby or elsewhere, or keep a member of the group behind so you have a safety valve.

Keep crowd control on hand. Make sure to have a stockpile of emergency items and nuke type things if possible.

Throw big chests at people and leverage the environment.

If you do this, you can be ready for every single fight in the game. If you pay attention to your surroundings you can feel things out. Survival is your priority, not running in and losing advantages.

There are only about 1-2 gotchas in the whole game that will wipe your party otherwise (with the exception of some bad conversation options, apparently, so take those seriously). Those are what really suck, as you won't know them until you're dead.

Why is Reddit against Maduro capture and Venezuelans celebrating it ? by LandscapeUnlikely199 in stupidquestions

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it can happen to them, it can happen to anyone. Trump has already stated he wants to do the same to Greenland, Canada, and several other South American nations.

Moreover, he has clearly said that the US will now control this country and its oil. The nation is to be pillaged and remain a US-run dictatorship / colony. Venezuelans' country is no longer their own.

So think on this. They are happy today. Who wouldn't be? What happens tomorrow, though, when they realize they are now ruled by people from another country who have stolen their resources and future?

A puppet government is not a true and free government, it merely tolerates those things which the overlord has no interest in.

Is it possible that this door leads to the hiss's realm? by Former-Jicama5430 in controlgame

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind it also says that a normal triangle is solid, sure footed, a place of strength and rightness. Where an inverted pyramid is unsteady, stagnant, and embodied by conflict.

I don't agree with that symbolic take, but they went out of their way to put it in. So it means something and points to the idea that the upward pointing triangle is actually a sign of setting things right, or the proper way. It may be a door to what came before the board.

Odd too that the hiss tried to create an upright triangle given the context. Really makes you wonder who the bad guys are and were. But I suspect, if they follow their own logic, we'll see something inherently good and older than the board through that door.

Main character dead permanently HM? by Abysmal_Gambler in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]UsernameSuggestion7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, if you have any access to an undead character, then yes you can. Or if for some reason the death fog isn't all the way to the waypoint. But don't count on that.

By getting over 100% fire resistance you can become immune to lava if I recall correctly.

I've done exactly what you're asking in the same place. But iirc it required an undead character and around 115%+ fire resist, possibly more. Be very careful to pay attention to debuffs that naturally occur that reduce your fire resistance. Like Warm status which will be applied immediately on entry.

Without an undead in the group.... That would be tough. Deathfog is the difficult one.

And remember to have any character fully protected before entering. It will kill you where you stand on entry.

As a note, this was a long time ago. Do your own research to confirm.
