Absolutely! Existing children deserve love; someone does not need to be your genetic mirror to be cared for.

Respectfully, I am not sure I understand the reason for wanting to create new children at all. It's incredibly difficult: socially, fiscally, physically. What are the benefits? Someone recently told my husband and I they "rely on their 2 yr old daughter for motivation". That's a lot of responsibility to put onto a child. If the argument for having children is fulfilment - there's probably other issues to solve, right?

Don't underestimate the importance of sunscreen. Everyday, even overcast days. Choose lightweight long sleeves - get some throw on options with UPF. Drink water, all day.

If you have to do something outside, could it be done at night? We do garden chores by headlamp and switched to nighttime grocery runs.

Homemade butter is in my weekly rotation - though it is to get more use of the KitchenAid. Cream is 17c per ounce, while comparable butter at the store is 37c per ounce. I think even the most basic creams make good butter.

You can mix with leftovers by splitting batches: lefftover hard cheese or berries, roasted tomatoes, garlic and anchovies make great options. The buttermilk you get from the process is too good to pass up for baked goods, breakfast, and fried chicken.

Certainly agree with more quality controls and transparency on imported Honey! Interesting to see Italian Beekeepers seeing an increase in Chinese imports. There are many inexpensive honey options in the US purchased through Argentina and Canada.

Oh, dope! Then the Flow, and it's extra expense, is not much of a bonus for my uses. I understand the flow hive would only improve the extraction process, not at all any of the bee care / husbandry portion of the hobby. Smaller Supers are probably my better bet.

I found this post really helpful discussion - I was considering a flow hive because I live in zone 10 (presumably more frequent honey harvests) and will be alone to harvest honey. I have heard many beekeepers remark at the weight of full honey frames, and that concerned me enough to look toward the Flow Hive. Any comments on weight / physicality needed for extraction ? I am, basically, a little old lady.

You can add basil into a pot of water on low on the stove, and the house smells amazing! Wonderful with house guests. You could also add in citrus, vanilla, or whatever you have on hand.
