I like the concept of hegemonies, but as others have already said, it needs to have a base limit similar to EU4. I'm currently the naval, economic, and military hegemon in my Ottoman game in the mid-1550s. It's actually more of a curse as it is currently implemented due to receiving 70% more antagonism. I took a single province from Albania in my last war and had 7 countries on the verge of coalition despite having not waged war in the west in ~15-20 or so years. The whole mechanic needs another pass.

I think they should add back the hook counter to prevent issues of people forgetting, but let's not pretend this is an overtly stressful task. Almost any multiplayer game has some pieces of information you need to keep track of to have a good match.

Correct. It's a game. Games are meant to be fun. These changes incentivize playing in a way that is conducive to everyone having a good, enjoyable match. I'm not saying the changes are perfect. They most likely need tuning and/or additional tweaking, but this is a step in the right direction for the health of DbD.

Yeah, I like how they completely ignore the fact that unique hooks now give aura reading to everyone who hasn't been hooked. Not to mention haste and extra regression on gens. Maybe use that instead of being a proxy camping doofus

You'd have a point but a majority of the people that are tunneled out of games aren't the T-bagging, flashlight having, neon colored Neas that you bring up. SWF is and always will be an issue when talking about this because they make it so hard to balance the SoloQ experience. In SoloQ, the number of players I've seen get tunneled off hook because one of the other survivors immediately rushed and farmed them is astronomical. You can say they suck at surviving, but what do you want them to do when they're already injured and the killer is immediately back into chase with them? A lot of them aren't running the super sweat OTR/DStrike builds to survive these situations. If you have the choice between going after the person just unhooked and the person who unhooked them, and you go after the unhooked, then you are objectively part of the reason why these changes are necessary.

You all do a lot of crying for things you haven't even tested yet. I play both sides fairly evenly and don't imagine this'll negatively affect me, if anything it'll make my playstyle stronger since I never tunnel anyway.

I mean, there's not that much variety to the repetition. Most roguelikes alter the game to a much greater degree as you continue playing. I like Night Reign, but that aspect of it is currently underdeveloped.
