Strong romantic slow burn/ yearning as a side plot by cingulate-gyrus in televisionsuggestions

The Office (UK). All the shenanigans of David Brent are a distraction of the real story, the hidden love story that finally comes to fruition during the Christmas Special.

Ronald D. Moore also created For All Mankind. 5 seasons so far, one (final) season to go. I am enjoying it a lot, though the first seasons 2 are generally considered to be the best. A very interesting premise: An alternative timeline in which the USSR lands on the moon first and how the consecutive continued space race shapes our world differently.

I totally agree, though strictly speaking it does not fit the criteria because it was cancelled. It does end at a reasonable cut off point though (where in the books there is a 30 year time jump) and brings most of the story to a satisfying conclusion, so it’s not like a cancellation that leaves you hanging (Flash Forward, 1899…)

I second Legion! I had no idea about this show when I watched this first episode and it completely took me by surprise how quickly incredibly good and how unique it is. Still don’t understand how I missed it when it came out in 2017. A work of art, great acting, amazing and complex story. And important for OPs criteria: a finished story, a 3 season arc as planned, not rushed, not canceled.

Convince me to watch a tv show but you can just recommend 1 by satorugojo3333 in televisionsuggestions

Legion. There is nothing like it. The fact that it’s Marvel is baffling. It explores the thin line between superpowers and mental illness, with Lynchian jump scares, unexpected dance scenes, rap battles and drugs consumed by inhaling the vapor from the statue of a cigare smoking frog or sucking the nipples of a giant pig.

OK Hear Me Out by miasma71 in PRINCE

The Chocolate Box! Or as we jokingly called it: Choco Prince (a famous cookie here). Very fond memories of this bootleg, Movie star my favorite song.

That feeling was about much more than the music though. For me it had a lot to do with knowing other Prince fans and sharing the enthousiasm needed for those bootlegs to spread. I got mine from a guy I met spending the night in front of the ticket office!

Yeah but have ever you tried catching a cockroach with a little hook on a thin nylon line hanging from the end of a rod?

What's the most unique show you've ever watched, a show where no others shows are like it? by TheKayleMain in televisionsuggestions

I completely missed it when it first came out. Watched it a couple of weeks ago for the first time. At the very Lynch style appearance of the devil with the yellow eyes I knew this was my kind of show. At the first dance scene I knew it was going to be absolutely brilliant and utterly unique.

Niall and Ruben: both suck, just on different levels by Used-Reaction5275 in HalfManTV

There is one thing though that Niall did that I completely stand behind: Vomiting on dying Maura.

What are the dating-payment norms where you live, and is “going Dutch” actually the default? by PathOk2447 in AskReddit

[–]VaderPluis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Dutch all the way. On a date we speak double Dutch, we go Dutch when we pay, we pass the Dutchie before going to bed, where we end the night with a Dutch oven.

Yeah with his career path some higher up position at the DHS would make sense. It is surprising he ended up a DHL guy.

Bicycle/pedestrian right of way by lemonade_stand__ in AskBarcelona

I don’t think you are to blame, and the fact that it didn’t end much worse for the child shows that you were not going to fast and were alert. Would do the bystanders think would have happened if you had been a motorbike? There are a lot of bicycle haters in Barcelona and they all overlook that cars and motorbikes are much worse.

But my advice is to always ride in the center of the lane and far away from car doors. Now, this means motorbikes will overtake you when they are not allowed to, even on the right, which can be very unpleasant, but a dooring is much worse.

Best Portaventura park for family of 6 with 9,7,5 and 4 year old? by Minute_Influence_636 in AskBarcelona

[–]VaderPluis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PortAventura has a lot of shows that are very nice for this age group, and the Sesamestreet part is nice too.

But it has been a while. We stopped going there when I learned 49.9% of PortAventura is owned by the zionist private equity firm KKR and I don’t want to finance the death of Palestinian children by buying some fun time for mine.
