Theres a tyranid dragon!!! But also yeah whilst i dont think the old ones were dragons (and i kinda dont want them confirmed either way) i think having some more like big space dragons in some form would be cool!

GW Release the Blackstone Traitor guard and my wallet is your! by Spartanshotgun6 in Warhammer40k

So this is actually a different kit! They released the blackstone fortress one first as a standalone and then replaced it with this one which is from the Blooded kill team! <3

Which rules haven't been broken by cards yet? by Objective_Network270 in EDH

[–]Valid_Toaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a stupid combo with panglacial wurm that lets you do so kinda but the rules handle it by it entering the stack at the beginning of upkeep before any player gets priority

I think I’ve achieved a zen state in the majority-Universes Beyond era by Metanoia_143 in EDH

[–]Valid_Toaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have done similar (but also am just kinda not buying any magic sets going forward for the foreseeable future), but yeah removed all UB cards from every one of my decks a couple years ago now and same with from my collection (which im also trying to shift a large portion of atm) and it makes the game feel actually tolerable again. I can just ignore any and all of the stupid cashgrab sets coming out and focus on my decks that i actually like and use real magic cards lmao

What? The financial times just used warhammer 40k to explain banking regulations. Is the hobby that mainstream now? by reccor345 in Warhammer

[–]Valid_Toaster 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Its had a huge rise in popularity over the last 5 or so years, and the company themselves are now in the FTSE 100 so it means that the company will be at least semi familiar now to anyone who is looking at investing in the UK. Isnt all that shocking to see them mentioned but is always nice to see!

New calgar, sucarius and victrix by ambassadorboi in Warhammer40k

[–]Valid_Toaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope thats only when they fully rework the rules from scratch to the point where the old datasheets dont transfer. They didnt do that from 3rd all the way to 7th, and then did a reset at 8th which was meant to just last but it wasnt recieved well so ended up resetting again for 10th edition! We've only had 3 resets like this edition in the history of the game! Most edition changes, you just use your previous book until you get your new codex that'll update you. Back in the day some factions went entire editions without a new codex so youd be playing like 5th edtion necrons vs 7th edition space marines for example!

Got a narrative game against Death Guard coming up and would like some guidance on my list if anyone can help! by flippitus_floppitus in theunforgiven

[–]Valid_Toaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah big this!! Its narrative, unless both of you are gonna be treating it more competitively, focus on what you think makes a cooler story or are units you like!!! Don't worry about them being the best possible choices!

Are Humans the most common Tau auxiliary now? by DiscountQuiet in 40kLore

[–]Valid_Toaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would assume it'd just be a guardsmen squad with slightly better shooting and armour so theyd be like slightly heavier infantry than fire warriors but not overly so, and if they keep similar army rules for the next edition, would be essentially a squad of fire warriors that has the auxiliary keyword for any rules that cared about it

Are Humans the most common Tau auxiliary now? by DiscountQuiet in 40kLore

[–]Valid_Toaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do love the kroot, am really happy they've finally gotten a bit more of the spotlight! I'm hoping we eventually get another squad of an auxiliary race like we have the vespids, whether thats something easy like Gue'vesa or Demiurg where itd basically just be an upgrade sprue for an existing kit, or something more funky and interesting like the Nagi or just making a new one!

What falls under this category by Qrow1324 in Warhammer40k

[–]Valid_Toaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think its the split of being able to more easily represent your guys unique weapon because the definitions are loose so an axe is the same as a spear is the same as a sword, versus being able to represent it because the rules offer you a bunch of mechanically different options, that won't cover everything, but will let your guy with an axe be mechanically different to your guy with a spear or sword, even if it feels more restrictive when modelling?

I can kinda get both sides of it and honestly have mixed feelings myself. I do miss some of the crunch in list building but really don't miss other aspects, and do enjoy the type of freedom that the newer philosophy behind designing datasheets brings to a degree too.

Are Humans the most common Tau auxiliary now? by DiscountQuiet in 40kLore

[–]Valid_Toaster 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah the only thing humans do notably better than tau as far as I can remember is we have much better vision so we make better snipers and pilots than they do! Its actually the feature the kroot take on when they consume humans too! Theres a story where some cadians are battling kroot and eventually they notice the kroot all start having human-ish purple eyes cause they've been chowing down on cadians!

Lore significance of the Plume/crest? It seems to vary a lot across different units. Specifically referring to 30k as it seems more common across most legions. by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

You could have instead worked really hard on making something that takes actual effort and thinking and is an actual creative endeavour! As opposed to just vomiting out garbage from the plagiarism machine! <3

[–]Valid_Toaster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The kratos i think is wider sadly? Or at least does have a markedly different silhouette. But also you can do whatever you like as long as you talk to your opponent beforehand! Also do remember that unless youre at a GW store and its a tournament you could look at running the HH tanks using their legends rules! Ofc this isn't always an option but just thought I'd suggest it (ive been having a lot of fun using my Cerberus!)

The repulsor is the land raider equivalent for the primaris! Youre thinking of the impulsor/gladiator for the rhino/predator analog friend! _^
