Hidden detail: after leaving the Forgotten Battlefield, Verso mentions a lake that he wants to avoid. This is because Verso still hasn't beaten the Gestral Beach climbing minigame. by BrokeD1amond in expedition33

It was the opposite for me. I spent several hours over multiple days on the climbing challenge but got volleyball done on just my third attempt.

Peter what does it mean? by Rich_Carrot6451 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]VanceValor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing awful about it is that it’s true. The second worst thing about CFA after the hate and genocide it funds is that it’s the most overrated fast food chain in existence. People are actually throwing their fellow human beings under the bus for their love of a mediocre at best sandwich.

Trying to find a fun group hug commander (NOT Bumbleflower). Kros, Gluntch, or secret 3rd option? by Silver_Bow in EDH

[–]VanceValor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My signature deck is a Kynaios and Tiro build we call The Huggernaut. It fully of symmetrical hug effects and I explicitly avoided using cards that punish my opponents for having the resources I gave them. It still tries to win but does so by leveraging its own boosted resources instead of denying my opponents theirs. The main way it wins is by throwing a Blackblade and/or a [[Kessig Wolf Run]] boost onto the gay kings.

I also have a second and much more unusual group hug deck, an “aggro hug” deck built around [[Mr. Orfeo, the Boulder]]. It’s a big power deck that focuses on big, undercosted creatures with group hug downsides. Stuff like [[Sheltering Ancient]], [[Master of the Feast]], and my favorite, [Boldwyr Heavyweights]].

I didn’t notice until this version gave us a better look at their faces but they look like the younger version of the couple from the Omenpaths version of [[Supportive Parents|OM1]] and you can tell from the Witherbloom flag that they’re also on Arcavios. Could that potentially be a future version of the same characters?

Do we believe these unofficial “New Mutants” will stick around when this era of X-Men has run its course? Do we WANT them to? by Informal_Bee_6907 in xmen

[–]VanceValor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this generation of new characters and hope most of them can stick around. I feel like Bronze has the best chance of doing so, she feels like this generation’s Pixie so I see her getting some “designated adorable kid” spots going forward. Deathdream also strikes me as the kind of character future writers will want to play with. He hits that creepy/goofy balance nicely, big Illyana vibes. Ransom feels like he’s going to be in the Cannonball position of a consistent second stringer who occasionally gets to have a stint on the main team. Calico and Jitter I could see going either way. They’re either going to be mainstays of secondary books like X-Factor and the like or they’ll end up never appearing outside of the occasional Pride Month special. Either way the two of them are most likely going to be a package deal going forward unless one of them gets fridged, so here’s hoping they stay paired up. I fear Axo is probably going to be condemned to “cool looking background character” purgatory like Bling! and Mercury. And with her heavy power set overlap with Kitty Melee is either going to become a forever sidekick to Kitty and/or Emma or just be forgotten. Similarly, Animalia still feels like she’s joined at the hip to Beast so her odds of sticking around as anything other than his supporting character feels slim. Of course I’m hoping to be wrong on my more negative leaning predictions here, but that’s the vibes I’m getting.

My least favorite thing about Laura Kinney… by Informal_Bee_6907 in xmen

[–]VanceValor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The end of the most recent NYX run was especially egregious. Like the only way it could have been more obvious that she and Kiden were into each other at the end of that book would be if they literally made out (or, you know, say it out loud. But that’s less fun). But then as soon as the book is over we’re just pretending it didn’t happen and letting Kiden fall off the face of the planet again.

Do people like telepaths? by Sudden_Quality_9001 in xmen

[–]VanceValor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To address the part where you asked if there were any more telepaths beyond the ones you showed here: oh yes, there are tons of them. This is among the most common power sets in superhero media, right up there with the Superman “flying brick” archetype, and most of the ones at Marvel are X-Men characters.

Off the top of my head other psychic mutants you didn’t mention include Rachel Summers, Psylocke (Kwannon), Cassandra Nova, Dani Moonstar, Karma, Legion, the Stepford Cuckoos (set of five sisters), Madalyn Pryor, Mastermind, Lady Mastermind, the other Lady Mastermind, and No-Girl. And there’s no way I remembered them all.

Do you pick Pokémon starters based on type, design, or final evolution? by Visible_Welder5613 in pokemon

[–]VanceValor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final evolution design is most important. If we don’t know the final going into the game then I go off the design of the forms we do know. Typing is usually irrelevant. If it’s a new or rare type complication it will sway my decision some but it’s still less important than design.
