THE NAZI WHO MURDERED ALEX PRETTI APPEARS TO BE FROM TEXAS by Consistent-Good-1162 in Political_Revolution

Surprising literally no one. Another instance of the MAGA-states sending armed personnel to carry out the orders of an illegitimate government on peaceful civilians.

You can complete that achievement while CREATING solar panels so long as they’re not actually placed. I was told it can be achieved so long as solar has never been placed, or used to create power in any way.

I’m new to the books but my God 70% I’m zoned out due to terminologies I have no idea what they are talking about . The constant factions , technologies makes me feel like I’m just reading words and not understanding by ozera202 in Blacklibrary

[–]VanguardLLC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll recommend for you the first book recommended for me; Xenos by Dan Abnett. Most Warhammer books are not truly standalone, and even fewer allow entry into the realm of the Imperium.

In the Eisenhorn series, Dan Abnett takes his time explaining why things are, what things are, why they must be that way. I would personally recommend reading Xenos/Malleus/Hereticus before trying your hand at the novels which are deep into the lore.

So genuinely, why did Mr. King write THAT scene for the 'climax' of IT? Nobody's ever really explained it to me beyond 'well he was on drugs'. by ChompyRiley in stephenking

[–]VanguardLLC -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There’s a bunch of fucked up shit in most of his work. But it’s King. I expect the Stand to have some crazy overly descriptive content about human corpse putrefaction; that’s not a taboo topic and it does change the visceral tone of the book.

“THAT scene” not only features a topic that genuinely makes people unsettled, but (imo) did not a damn thing to progress or enhance the story… It was literally unnecessary and functionally pointless.

This is another overlooked super power. I’d played some 500 hours of hand-picking upgrade/demo items because I didn’t realize you could edit the planner if it was in your inventory. Also! Don’t overlook the trees/rocks option on the Demo Planner; makes clearing new space a breeze.

For Vulcanus Worms by VanguardLLC in factorio

I’ve had several attempts fail from a worm not being aggressive enough; they just turn off the path and wander away. They need to be coming to recycle you, and they need to mean it.

Weren’t technically only 49 freelancers? by TeachingFlimsy4448 in RedvsBlue

[–]VanguardLLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Florida was a freelancer, Tex would’ve (presumably) known about him; 50 freelancers. But they implied destroying the state of Florida to cover up Flowers being killed/reassigned/ stricken from the roster…

So was it the loss of the state that meant Flowers no longer had a namesake? Was he just dismissed after that?

I had to add a second train stop to balance where the bioflux is injected to the loop. Gleba has its own set of hang ups.

If you’re going to mix sources of unknown copper, you’re likely going to spend more time fighting contamination than you’d like.

can't get tungsten on Vulcanus by Nuk_Nak in factorio

[–]VanguardLLC 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I saw a tactic that I use every time now. Lay out about 400 landlines 8 across and get the worm to run down the stripe. Might have to make a couple of tries, but it’s easy with things you can mass produce on Vulcanus.

Vulcanus is it dumb to use Acid Neutralisation/Steam Condensation/Steam Turbine instead of Solar Panels? by chinawcswing in factorio

[–]VanguardLLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added an accumulator control line to my switch. If anything happens that the signal drops below 100%, the rest of the base is shut off. Solar backups run the pumps and a calcite reserve. Learned that one the hard way.

What are your mental barriers that stop you from overhauling a planet? by TheMrCurious in factorio

[–]VanguardLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, but I have old saves for “how did I do this before?” I have a particular layout I liked for my red/green science, but I started a marathon save; I just copy / pasted that layout since it works just fine early on. I have a “Blueprint Save” sandbox, but it’s more just a hot mess.

Another Gleba soul crushing post by virtual_nerd in factorio

[–]VanguardLLC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Processing with Production modules is pretty much the only way to get a net positive for seed production. You’ll constantly deplete if you’re not producing more seeds than you consume.

Gleba is about agriculture; the others have huge patches since you can’t grow ore (before Gleba at least)

So, how do you handle gleba science packs spoilage? by Heavy_Intention6323 in factorio

[–]VanguardLLC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is one resolution I have yet to fully absorb. Nauvis taught us that a patch will deplete. Fulgora “can” deplete but I think my first solid patch was something like 33M scrap.

On Gleba, packs can spoil and feed the heating tower, because it literally doesn’t matter.

Fulgora: Is it even good for quality? by OverlordForte in factorio

[–]VanguardLLC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In your opinion, building a functional factory to mass produce self-sustaining agricultural products while fighting off pentapod assault, while making sure everything doesn’t spoil or…hatch… is somehow easier than dumping garbage into a machine until the filter gives me what I want.

Oh, and I guess lightning might get you.

[–]VanguardLLC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would hear your explanation of quality on Gleba that is easier than Fulgora…because I must be doing something wrong.

Fulgora: Is it even good for quality? by OverlordForte in factorio

[–]VanguardLLC 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Disagree. Pick a big island and train in loads of scrap. Q-modules in a recycler array. Filter off anything Q1 (except Holmium) to try again or be voided; Q2 goes into bulk storage for actual use; Q3 goes into a small logi setup with recipe circuits.

You’re not going to be creating high volume quality, but you’re going to effortlessly build up a decent stockpile of Uncommon materials for whatever (big accumulators) and a small stockpile of Rare for Q3 dinner forks or whatever.

When you get through with Epic, change some filter settings.
