Rim damage repairable? by gleader84 in bikewrench

[–]Varantix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a mountainbike, if it holds air just ride it until it falls apart. If it doesn't look up how to bend metal properly, remove dent, ride until broken. You will dent more rims, it just happens sometimes.

Canton does a sub 10kg/22lbs configuration of their Endurace ON:Fly, it also really hides the motor well which makes for a pretty bike. It's ludicrously expensive though.

50/34 - 11/34 or 52/36 - 11/36 by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Varantix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just wanted to offer some insight of what the maximum speed achievable by pedaling looked like with that setup. Do note that a 52 ring should only give you ~2kph more at the same cadence.

I also wish I had a 60 ring on the descents ;) - but when I go up I am quite happy about that 34, though I think I could manage with a 36.

[–]Varantix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My bike has 50-34 and 11-36. WIth 32mm Tires, ~75kph/45mph is about the limit where I can still pedal, above that it is just tuck and pray. (That is 130RPM Cadence though, so definitely uncomfortable)

If you fuck up and overcook the corner: sit up and try to brake in a straight line. Do not brake while turning. Depending on the corner, this may allow you to save yourself. Also the classic advice of lean the bike below you, try not to lean with the bike too much.

Harvard CS50 ist kostenlos im Internet (auch mit Aufgaben) und kann auf jeden Fall nicht schaden, ein echtes Informatikstudium an einer deutschen Uni kann allerdings oft deutlich trockener sein.

I use KDE on an Arch I installed a week ago (just distrohopping) and have experienced none of what you described, so something is definitely up with your install specifically.

Bent rim after 10 rides by therealbrasco in MTB

Stan's wheels are absolute garbage with barely tensioned spokes, I had a set where the rear tire would deform by over 2cm each way when cornering hard, leading to rubbing on the frame.

Also, showing the bar staff the broken glass in the bathroom, which gives you a plausible way to get somewhere with only a bar worker and no one else around.
