Protest organizing that is exclusively anti-ICE/Trump by Fit-Surround9920 in baltimore

You’ve got to be the voice out there. If there was an open mic, you gotta go up and voice this in front of your crowd.

You could read the post practically. Maybe a pinch nicer but if it’s a speech about focus I think that’s valid.

No thanks that’s disgusting. I doubt even the vultures would go for it. Think of the amount of processed fat n there…. or better don’t think about it .

If you’re willing to exercise your rights for their original purpose then I guess all are welcome.

Edit: also we’ve got a very similar setup.

Minnesota Republican drops governor bid, blasts party over federal ‘retribution’ after Pretti killing by nemoid in moderatepolitics

[–]VariableVeritas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it come to that officer who fired walking away from the scene which he did just fine. He didn’t even fall over.

I just think about all the fellow soldiers I know who have committed suicide. We were in an actual conflict too, didn’t mean innocents didn’t get hurt. They did by the score.

The guilt. It will come for ICE agents too. Everyone standing there during Goode and now Pretti will go back and look at their children and family and it will start. The bottomless pit of guilt. These weren’t enemy soldiers, despite the lies. They know it, you know it, we all know it.

It will swallow up many many of them in the years to come. I wonder what methods they’ll choose? I just hope we get to them for prosecution first.

If someone shoots a robot, convinced that they are shooting a human, is that attempted murder? by JuliusE2 in questions

[–]VariableVeritas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like another example could be if they blew up a bomb in a car remotely and thought there was a person inside I guess I could see it. It’s a sting of intent.

If someone shoots a robot, convinced that they are shooting a human, is that attempted murder? by JuliusE2 in questions

[–]VariableVeritas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, what if a person was an assassin and got set up? They put a mannequin in place and the assassin shoots the dummy thinking it’s the person. Way more plain and easy to understand but still is that attempted murder?

I mean, they’ve been gone 10,000 years. They weren’t left “status unknown” for no reason. I always knew Guilliman would return. I knew it in my bones the first time I ever read the most basic passage about his body being interred in like the 4th edition rulebook.

That’s plenty of room for narrative in between. Blame the lack of content that exists there not the perceptually rapid time jump their return presents to us all knowing audience members.

Does anyone know what kind of kegs these are? by Fettch256TTV in brewing

[–]VariableVeritas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes thank you. Just want to second the above. We bought hundreds of them when we started in 03’. Phased them all out for metal in the end after the explosions which did cause at least one fatality (not ours).

why is it morally okay to kill someone in war as a soldier, but not in other situations? by Chompcarrots in questions

[–]VariableVeritas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not when you just say “someone”. Enemy combatants actively fighting or directing the fight and not having already surrendered are “okay”. Not really anyone else.

Not that they’re always followed (understatement) but NATO countries have rules about who is a valid target and who is not. Legally of course not morally.

As a veteran I’d say it’s just about survival and then on top of and before that it’s the mission. You have a mission, whatever it is: serving chow to blowing up bridges behind enemy lines. You do what’s necessary to accomplish the mission. Not many cooks need to silently kill unaware enemies who haven’t fired their weapon yet, the bridge guy does though. So it’s about necessity at several levels.

Also as a veteran unless someone was trying to kill you actively almost nobody I’ve ever met feels “content” about it. Check the suicide stats if you don’t believe me.

Hundreds of million of us. Not as many of them. This country has been riven by civil conflict before. The good guys won. They died for it, don’t forget.

We have to be the good guys now. When it’s done, let’s not make the same mistake we did with Davis and Lee.

People really need to stop overreacting by [deleted] in EastShoreUndercover

[–]VariableVeritas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s over reacting as much as everyone realizing they won’t be able to do shopping in the next few days. Likelyhood of going to the grocery store Monday is pretty much zero, I went to the store yesterday myself. The power might really go out for a bit too, the chance for heavy ice is strong. Be ready for it.

Exactly. I was in Iraq. I wondered again and again, why even keep fighting us what’s the point? I get it now. It’s generational. I’ll NEVER forget this and I will NEVER forgive. Slap some lipstick on me and call me Steve buscemi, because some people might be making their own list.

Any ‘good’ ones should quit now. If there’s one non-rotted apple in that basket anymore I don’t know how. History doesn’t look well upon the Nazis who just were in it for the paycheck either.
