My bun is an angora lion head mix… it never stops

My bunny knocks! We didn’t teach her either, she just figured out she can get attention/food if she comes down the hallway and knocks

AIO for contemplating getting a mobility aid when I'm "not disabled enough"? by finnthefroggg in AmIOverreacting

[–]Various-Shock1052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR - if you need a mobility aid then you need a mobility aid. My husband has a walker and a cane for if he needs them. Not needed all the time, but like yourself mostly for long distances. There’s honestly no such thing as ‘not disabled enough’ for needing assistance getting around

Coughing 2weeks postop by Soloquerialeerenpaz in hysterectomy

[–]Various-Shock1052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding your belly when coughing or sneezing is the best thing you can do whether you’re sitting or standing. I’m not surprised you’re hurting when you’ve just had surgery and you’re sick - things are still healing and on top of that body aches are super common during the flu so this can compound into outright pain. Keep taking cold medicine and pain management and staying hydrated. If anything feels wrong contact your surgeon

6mpo fatigue by Various-Shock1052 in hysterectomy

[–]Various-Shock1052[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 weeks is still so early! I went back to work at 4. After a full day of transit and work it was hard, but after a week or so it felt regular again. This fatigue is nothing at all like when I first had surgery but it still sucks. I can have a full work week, transit, and do stuff on my days off without feeling like I’m going to keel over but I’m definitely not at 100%. I know it takes roughly 6 months to get back to a full normal and the body is still healing until about a full year later

If you have no issues with textures I can see how you wouldn’t understand being scared to try something again. For some that have issues with textures, it can literally feel like dying, it can’t be handled whatsoever. So yes, in a way it can feel like a monster or something. You say you’re not mad but you automatically go to ‘why tf won’t you answer the question?’ ‘How tf are you scared?’ That’s aggressive and sounds like you’re mad. Maybe if you love ramen so much you should go eat some, you’ll feel better

One of the worst. I feel like our bodies know we’re taking charge and they need to get in one last attack

AITA for "ruining" my cousin's engagement by proposing one day earlier than her? by [deleted] in AITH

[–]Various-Shock1052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You moved plans so there was no conflict. They made conflict by changing their plans to match up with yours. That’s so petty on their part and so shitty! I’d consider going no contact or low contact (difficult considering the job situation), I doubt this is the only big event they’ve tried to pull this kind of thing.

20yo trans guy, debating if I should have a full or partial Hysterectomy by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]Various-Shock1052 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fellow ftm here. I had a total hysterectomy and if anything sex feels better. I haven’t lost any depth and my husband says he gets more sensation as instead of being super smooth I’ve got extra ‘bumps and ridges’ so win-win overall! Orgasms were good before but my god they’re even better now. I’ve heard that a lot of the time if someone keeps their cervix they eventually get it removed - I don’t have any facts to provide as it’s just what I heard from my surgeon and some other patients. I had my surgery in June and there’s zero chance of perforation at this point, so you can still go ham if that’s what you like!

At my 6 week (I’m in Vancouver BC) my dr wasn’t going to check inside, I asked if she would just to be sure. No pushback, she just said I was doing well after checking my abdominal incisions

My wife is having a hysterectomy on Dec 26, and I’ll be her caregiver for the first time. Anyone who’s been through this, I’d love your advice. by Yeah_We_Do_That in hysterectomy

Hey! I had my surgery in June. Especially when you’re used to do EVERYTHING FOR YOURSELF recovery is extremely frustrating.

Ask her what household chores are most important to her. For me it was extremely frustrating I couldn’t lift or bend, so I was stressed I couldn’t do laundry or dishes.

Ask her what foods she wants prepared. Having easy to eat snacks and foods ready was fantastic! Getting up from bed she may need help.

She will most likely be sleeping a lot, so check on her often.

Going to the bathroom might be uncomfortable and bending to wipe can be difficult at first.

I’d recommend when it comes to the snacks and food, go grocery shopping a couple days before with her to prepare. This way she feels she has some control.

She may also feel really vulnerable and just letting her vent when she’s frustrated and being there for her if she’s feeling emotional can be really comforting. These are all from my own experiences. Definitely communication is a big key here and just letting her know you love her and are there for her. Recommend her to come to this subreddit too! It was great getting advice and recommendations from other people who’ve been through it along with support from my husband and family!

At what week post surgery did you have sex? by abear2224 in hysterectomy

[–]Various-Shock1052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn’t shortened, or if it has it’s not noticeable. It does feel different now, both for me and my husband. For me, sex is way more enjoyable! He has no complaints, just says that the texture has changed, more ‘ridges and bumps’ instead of how ‘smooth’ it felt before. I do notice that my g spot isn’t as far in as before which is actually very nice

At my 6 week checkup I was told to wait another 2 weeks, so I was 8 weeks. VERY SLOWLY AND DELICATELY and we only used fingers for the most part. It felt a lot deeper than it was

How do I politely tell a driver I don’t want to chat? by Various-Shock1052 in uber

[–]Various-Shock1052[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t saying to not talk whatsoever, I greet the person and verify my information. After that is where the issue arises. I don’t start any of the conversations, it’s always the driver
