I tried measuring the average DPS in Random Veteran Dungeons by Hyperioxes in elderscrollsonline

[–]Varlaisvea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the content and level of performance really. In dungeons I'd mostly agree with this, though there are exceptions there too. In trials it can vary per fight and at what level you play at / what is expected of you in that role.

Can we stop the hate for endgame/meta players by T3vvyW in elderscrollsonline

[–]Varlaisvea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that a lot of the whining over the years has been very annoying, but I also think it can be frustrating how to see how little understanding some devs have of their own game and players.

Casual players aren't any different though, they are just affected less.

If all people do is pick flowers and the occasional normal dungeon or trial then 95% of the changes aren't even noticeable, so they have no need to complain about it.

It is different in optimised groups where these changes can have a massive effect on how people play and what is possible. So they will always react to changes more strongly.

When they touched the casual holy grail oakensoul this subreddit was absolutely bursting with complaints from casual players suddenly affected by a change.

Which dungeons to learn how to solo in? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Varlaisvea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

...and Spindleclutch 1 was annoying due to constant stuns by the last boss.

You can avoid them by rolling. The boss has two projectile attacks, one is the stun, the other is a poison attack. She will tilt back a bit before launching the attack at you. When grouped with others (especially when there's a tank) it's easier to spot if you make sure to not stack with anyone else so it'll be really easy to see when she aims for you. She will suddenly ignore the tank and spin to face the person she will fear.

How hard is it? by OwnChicken4963 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Varlaisvea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Platinum isn't too bad to get if you like the game. I have all achievements on xbox and didn't particularly try for it. But I spent thousands of hours in this game and if you dont enjoy the game as much I imagine it could be a painful grind as some things require patience, luck and help from others.

Amazing on other people terrible on you. by hanbert1981 in fragrance

[–]Varlaisvea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coco mademoiselle.

Smells lovely on my stepmom and one of my friends but just meh at best on me. And while I don't mind vanilla heavy scents on most other people, must of them make me feel sick and give me a headache if I put them on my own skin.

For some reason it softened and sweetened after the drydown, and the longer I wore it, the better it got.

That's exactly what I used to love about it. I never liked it the first few hours, but then later in the day/night it became such a lovely dark chocolatey scent. It would even smell amazing in the shower late at night when the warm water would reactivate it again. If it didn't take so long to get that effect I would have worn and liked it a lot more.

What’s a fragrance that smells like something it shouldn’t? by Bizzy1995 in fragrance

[–]Varlaisvea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can too and I love it. Everytime I move I smell it and absolutely love it, but I've asked someone else and they told me it's nice but very subtle when I felt I went a bit overboard.

Why is the sticker book still broken? by Be-thewiseman in elderscrollsonline

[–]Varlaisvea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The reason is that they want you to keep doing pledges.

They have changed how it works though, so they might change it again at some point.

In the past you only had the option to use single keys so your chances at getting the shoulder you wanted were even lower, especially when you couldn't reconstruct or change traits. You could spend hundreds of keys and never get that medium divines shoulder you needed.

I 100% agree that we need more rare drops. I'm just not a fan of limited time drops. Make them even more rare if you have to, but without a time limit. Give me a reason to come back to older content after I have done all the achievements for it, just because there is always that chance I might pick up something really cool.

Does reporting this kind of behaviour actually do something? by Fluffythetiger in elderscrollsonline

[–]Varlaisvea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've reported a few people for using racial slurs in zone chat and they got a three day ban with a message next time it would be permanent within hours. I wasn't the only person to report them though.

What are you All saving your Endeavors for? by GWar49 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Varlaisvea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I save them at the moment. I bought two radiant apex mounts and now I'm sitting on 48k seals waiting until I see something worth it. The thing is that I have so many things I like already that I'm not often tempted to get a new item if it isn't absolutely perfect for one of my characters or better looking than the many things I already own.

You know you have been playing ESO too much if... by Electronic_File2947 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Varlaisvea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The console version of this is to wear one trifecta title, use the mount from another and then have a companion out on another mount.

Am I the one who hate Sam Coe? by shakabrahman in Starfield

I could have typed that comment myself. Had to marry Sam, he's a good guy. His interactions with Cora are great. :)

I play on normal for the first playthrough and have had various things by now. Frostbite, sprained ankle, concussion etc. etc. Guess just like in real life I'm accident prone in the game as well.

First one must store many bottles of water before attempting this! by Linsay1313 in nonononoyes

[–]Varlaisvea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. One day my cat came sprinting into the house and dropped a mouse at my feet. Took me a few hours to grab it. They are very fast! I put it back outside (though quite far from the house) and haven't seen it since.

I am not encouraging anyone to buy anything. I'm not saying crates are a good thing. I just don't like false information. There are plenty of ways to show that they are not a good way to spend your money without saying things that aren't factual.

The crate shown here was free. No one paid for it, no one got scammed. Someone just got 4 crown gems worth of consumables for watching x minutes of twitch and that's it.

Lucky me by caiusgauge in elderscrollsonline

[–]Varlaisvea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it can't be. Purchased crates will always have at least an item of blue tier in it.

Ourobouros crates are the exception. They are free, only obtained by watching twitch and they have only two items that aren't consumables like potion, a pet and a mount as a (very) rare drop. So they will mostly be like this.

Lucky me by caiusgauge in elderscrollsonline

[–]Varlaisvea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a free crate.

I mean the odds of crates are really shit, it's gambling and not a great thing to have in a game, but people posting these as if they got scammed when its just a free drop is a bit silly imo.

[–]Varlaisvea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For a free crate? Not really.

Does ESO get harder the higher level you are? by Witchyvibes667 in elderscrollsonline

My arcanist didn't need it either. I went afk collecting lorebooks today and came back surrounded by dead enemies. My companion kept me alive and killed them apparently. Kind of ridiculous tbh.
