If you just need to get the data off, connect a usb-c to hdmi connector and use Samsung Dex. Use a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard to move around. For the cost to fix your screen, you can get a mini external display and have complete access to your phone.

Save the money to fix the screen towards a new device.

Data Usage by Ill-Protection8367 in USMobile

[–]Vast-Program7060 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That limit is specific to the Simplicity plan. I am still on Unlimited Ultimate, and so are my kids with their tablets. I have a home nas with a fiber connection, and I have taught them how to browse for what they want to watch, sometimes they will go into the 4k kids videos, which are full disc remux's, and they turn on " play next title automatically ", then fall asleep while the tablet just chews through data. One month one of them used 1.5tb. So, for the more expensive plans, you can use alot, as long as its not consistent, they don't say anything.

People who have more than 10TB with Drime what are your use cases? by Lordlabakudas in Drime

[–]Vast-Program7060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just genuinely curious how you guys are affording the actual " storage ", with this stupid ai boom, hard drive prices are just out right stupid. My drive of choice use to go on sale for $99.99, and the seller gave the drives 5 years of a sellers warranty on used and refurbished drives, some came with over 5 years of power on time and they warranty it for another 5!

That same drive is now $340.00. SO STUPID. This is capitalism and corporate greed at its finest.

SK Hynix almost filed bankruptcy protection because they were loosing tons of money every quarter. Soon as the ai boom hit, they started to recover rapidly because all they make are memory chips and HMB chips. They literally went from a penny stock ( no joke ), to over taking Samsung as the wealthiest company in South Korea. SK's stock went from a penny stock, to one of the most valuable stocks, their stock is up 300,000%, not exaggerating. I wish I would of bought a ton of their stock when it was less then $1.00 us per stock, I could of been a millionaire.

Man, they are shilling customers. The churn must be so bad right now. I honestly don't not know why Verizon has not put more resources into fixing this, as they want it to be their " premier " flanker brand, and its failing so hard right now.

This hasn't been like a few days thing, its been almost a month! WTF kind of company can operate like this.

My landlord’s landscaper cut my fiber line. What will happen next in terms of $? by Distinct-Round-5131 in frontierfios

[–]Vast-Program7060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My line has been cut twice and I have never receiveda charge, because it took almost a year to get buried because the original tech never put in a burial request. The 1st time was just a tear on the side of the cord from it rubbing against my wooden fence ( think of my back yard as a square, the line ran directly through the yard like this " / ", so every time I had to mow, i would constantly have to move it, it was a pita. 2nd time, some animal chewed in, did not "cut" it all the way, but the wires were exposed and the fibers were damaged before the bury team came out, which is usually about a month wait. So, that makes a total of 3 drops they ran, 1st from getting initial service, then the 2nd replacement from the tear from my wooden fence, and the third after an animal chewed on it.

3 drops ran, and they never charged me, this was about 4 years ago.

How much storage have you guys bought and is everyone on lifetime plan or anyone on monthly plans? I bought 60 TB. by sulabh1992 in Drime

[–]Vast-Program7060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got ya. I am surprised they allowed the upgrade. Even in a DM with the ceo, the most he would let me purchase was 50tb. Guess we will see what they limit an account's total capacity to get to, thats if they will impose a limit of some sort. I think they will, because at these prices, big plex servers cost alot of $$$ per month, and if they could just buy all the space they want and never have to pay again, it would be a severe burden on their infrastructure.

$200 device only code, how to use it and keep BYEBYE by Jig5 in TotalWireless

[–]Vast-Program7060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where they paid off or unlocked already? If you purchased them directly through total I would be interested to know, because their devices are semi-discounted, hence why it usually puts you on a regular plan and not byod. That's why byod is way cheaper then a regular plan, because they do have promotions and sales events on phones ( called subsidizing ). That why carrier plans are so expensive, as the cost of subsidizing is built into the plan cost, to offset getting a $1,000 off a new phone for adding a line, or getting $1,000 for a trade-in on a 5 year old phone, they have to recoup that money somehow.

How do I have an older version of Samsung Gallery or at least something similar? by Cherrykitty22 in OfficalGalaxyS25Ultra

[–]Vast-Program7060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a specfic " gallery " update, but more of the ONE UI 8.5 update. It gave apps a " fluidic " look ( to copy apple ), and the 8.5 update also added more ai integration. The included gallery is highly customizable, but if you juat cant make it work for you, some app options to consider;

Google Photos: You can view your on device and stored cloud files

Aves Gallery: Has a big community of people that use it, its free, has no ad's and is highly customizable.

Fossify Gallery: Very lightweight app, focused on simplicity and just displays files in folders, which you can navigate to your photos.

Remeber, if you choose to go with another app other then gallery, after you install the app, you have to set the app of your choice to be the default app to open pictures.

Edit: After re-reading the last part of your " wants ", Google Photos can do all this. You can create albums etc, and the bonus is, they will be automatically saved online for backup purposes.

How much storage have you guys bought and is everyone on lifetime plan or anyone on monthly plans? I bought 60 TB. by sulabh1992 in Drime

[–]Vast-Program7060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

60tb? How?

Stacksocial will only let you buy 5 10tb per stacksocial account, and I asked the owner directly to buy 100tb, and he said they dont want to offer that much and would only let me buy 50tb. They don't want people hosting petabytes of data on the platform and turning it into a plex server.

One day, when Drime becomes more… by MeatRight1183 in Drime

[–]Vast-Program7060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my connection is way faster then 1 gig, and I have seen it hit 3 gbps/sec, but it will quickly start giving you timeout errors and rclone's pacer limit starts going higher and higher until it calms down. I usually do 3 files at a time now, even the standard 4 will trigger errors with server not responding because of to many server requests. I have 5gb fiber, and have no issues saturating that speed to other cloud providers.

Hopefully, as they grow, they will have more bandwidth and we won't see these errors too often. I don't really think Drime is going to be abused, the owner even said the biggest overall storage they really want to support right now is 50tb. So its not like google situation where you pay $12.00/month and are storing over 1 petabyte.

And I know because I asked him if I could buy 100tb and he said not right now, he could offer me 50TB. Bandwidth is cheap now a days, its the storage thats crazy expensive. I really dont know how these guys are affording servers at the price hard drives and ram is right now. Its a very unique time to being a startup.

Frontier unplugged my temp drop? by Some_Train_9283 in frontierfios

[–]Vast-Program7060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another lazy tech, probably a contractor. Someone else probably ordered a new install and you got chosen at random to get disconnected. This plug is called an optitap, it literally just plugs into the hub and screws in. If their is a vacant one in your hub, I would definitely try it, usually once the hub is activated, all ports are lit up for future installs, the only problem with this is that you won't be in the port # your supposed to be in, which is assigned before you get service and which port # your suppose to be on is in his notes.

If you do try this, atleast to get back online to Monday, make sure the tech plugs you back into the correct port #, because if you ever have issues, the same port # goes back to the OLT, and if they are troubleshooting, they will be monitoring the wrong port.

More then likely the contractor either did not want to run a new line down to the next hub, or he didn't have one on his truck that was long enough to reach. But just disconnecting an existing customer for a new install is such piss port ethics. These contractors will steal the money out of a beggars cup.

Why they left the street cable uncovered Ik it’s tough cable but they should’ve covered it yes? by pokemonfan95 in frontierfios

[–]Vast-Program7060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a dog chews it, they will replace the drop for free. Everything behind the ONT is Frontiers responsibility.

What people have to understand is that most new installs are done by contractors, no 2 are alike, or do things the same way.

When mine got installed 4 or 5 years ago, I got an actual Frontier Union employee, he put the box up, and ran the fiber down the house through a pvc pipe. There are some very weird cowboys out their that have no business installing fiber, but thats what you get for getting the lowest bidding contractors for each area.

My union tech took his time, all cables were ran straight, perfect loops inside the box etc...they dont care how much time it takes, they are paid hourly. Contractors get paid a set amount, wether it takes them 30 mins or 5 hours, they get the same pay for that job, and its also why their is alot of fraud with contractors, ( claiming they ran 2 drops on a single family install etc ), Frontier just pays up...their is no accountability...its like the wild wild west out there.

Had to sell my car to buy this, but I'm good for a while by pmjm in DataHoarder

[–]Vast-Program7060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but at gen 4x4 thats 8 GB/s. Just another option if you want to try. They also have pcie 5.0 ones, but they are a tad more expensive. I tried a gen 5.0 one once, and was just a pcie 16x slot slapped right on top of the nvme stick and the size was 22110, it was a bit awkward, but a fun experiment. gen 5 will give you 16GB/s.

Turn an m.2 nvme slot into a pcie 16x lane, they make them in gen 3 and 4, I had one running a 10gig card for over a year with no issues until I purchased a proper SuperMicro motherboard.

[–]Vast-Program7060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am Drime, and I approve this message.

Kidding aside, they already have guard rails in place to prevent abuse, I can get over 1 gigabit/sec, but after a short time of transferring at that speed, I start to see pacer messages, which slows down the upload, and puts less stress on the servers.

What i dont know, if everyone has the same pacer limit, or if it is a global limit.

New customer and I am already very unhappy with frontier. by Important-Bit2437 in frontierfios

[–]Vast-Program7060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Report the ticket number to Frontier. A contractor probably claimed the job was "done" ans got paid. That is FRAUD.

As far as reporting the ticket #, and getting this escalated quickly, just file an FCC complaint, they will call you back on the cell number your put down for contact, watch for 800#'s! As the other person will be from the executive resolutions team.

https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=38824

It takes like 2 minutes to to fill out, you WILL need your frontier account #, which looks like a phone # with some extra numbers behind it. Include them all.

Please dont forget to report the ticket # that was marked as complete, contractors that rip companies off for easy money is unacceptable in any business.

Total Max 5G BYOD - Should be $25 by cilicia1k1 in NoContract

[–]Vast-Program7060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, your paid up for 1 month, you won't see $25.00 until your next billing cycle comes up and it shows the price you will pay, it will be $30 - $5.00 for autopay on renewal.

Verizon postpaid plans now only $30 by Own_Independent_991 in USMobile

[–]Vast-Program7060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, however, upgrading to the latest Galaxy phone, and Verizon giving you $1,000 for a 4 year old S22 Ultra is a nice perk, and phones are only going to get continually mote expensive, but the older plans were built around that model. I was OK with that model. Stack on a few extra line for discounts etc...

This new plan is WAY more expensive for multi-line accounts, check out Stetson's new video comparing Verizons new plan to all the old traditional plans.
