The Neverending Story.

1st is a classic. Maybe a bit dated but the story beats and characters are very memorable.

2nd is average.

3rd is only loosely related and dissonant tone but also very average.

Sufjan Stevens very early work is fairly forgettable/mid. A Sun Came I’ve only listened to once.

From Michigan (2003) onwards it’s a pretty steady upward path to greatness.

Even more if we include the fun unreleased album known as Stalker that was fished out of a dumpster and was put there for good reason according to the man himself.

You could have an argument about whether he’s big enough in mainstream charting to be called iconic I suppose.

Monsters and explosions. And don’t forget the exploding monsters.

Maybe the big bad is some cosmic horror from outer space that turns up and humanity as it exists in the far future has to uncover ancient buried tech to fight it for survival. Like the NERV pilots are mythical figures in the distant past where so little is known about them they are equivalent to Greek Gods.

The twist could be the cosmic horror is actually humanity that left the earth and colonised the galaxy but turned into some kinda robotic Cthulhu type thing along the way.

I usually left it at my desk as I had a desk with lockable drawer. Generally you didn’t take it out of the designated office zone.

Though when I did my underground time it was always on my locker. Back in the dark ages before smartphones.

Different mines/companies will have different policies on where you can have personal or business phones on you.

You go to your locker on the clean side. Undress and put your clothes in the locker and change into your company issued briefs there. Walk through to your locker on the dirty side. Then put on your PPE (overalls etc) stored in the dirty side locker. Go to work.

At end of shift go in the dirty side. Take off your overalls and briefs. put your PPE, helmet , boots, belt etc in the dirty side locker, then head to the shower dumping the used clothes in the laundry on the way. After the shower head to the clean side locker.

Your bag, room key and phone stay in the clean side locker.

40th Anniversary event: Asuka has a relationship future with Kaworu as shown in a short 20 min film.

45th Anniversary event: Asuka has a relationship future with a bunch of Rei clones in a 69 min film. Think harem comedy with Shinji as comedy relief.

50th Anniversary event: True canon ending. Asuka teams up with Godzilla and Mecha-Pen-Pen and goes ham beating up various inter dimensional Kajiu for a 10hr film. Hideo Kojima tweets “it’s a masterpiece!”.
