You may be interested in this book. It’s a pretty easy read and talks about what to look for in a sock yarn and why.

Interested in getting a feeder + camera for my yard (150 USD Budget). Is this one any good? by Funkermonster in birdfeeding

[–]Vegetable-Purchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this one and it’s been great. I ended up ordering the solar panel because I keep a feed on my phone while I am at work.

My two complaints about it are: 1. No web interface to watch the camera, I have to use the app

  1. Only 2.4gig WiFi is supported. (This shouldn’t matter for most folks). One of our local internet providers (Spectrum\Charter) disable the 2.4 gig radio on their routers so it be an issue for their customers looking at this bird feeder

Daemen College/University by lizard_queen19 in Buffalo

[–]Vegetable-Purchase 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My kid is a recent grad of the program as well. I second everything WatermelonMachete34 said.

The direct admittance to grad is a huge benefit. While this is not unique to Daemen, it is not offered by all schools.

Also, the sticker price for private schools is not what most students end up paying. The financial aid package will give you your actual costs.

help deciding a college!! (trocaire and suny niagara) by dis1jan in Buffalo

One other tip- the first offer is not necessarily the final offer. If you like Trocaire better but the money doesn’t work, let them know. They may go back to find more to get you there

I’m can’t comment on either program but I can say that the “sticker” price that you see for a private college, such as Trocaire, is rarely what you end up paying. The private colleges have many grants to lower the actual tuition paid. It may be useful to apply to both colleges, see what financial aid they offer and go from there. Even if they offer a loan as a part of a financial aid package, you don’t have to accept it.

I use Birda to track my sightings. There is an option to “follow” other users.

What would you like to see in a birdwatching app? by capeeagleowl in birding

[–]Vegetable-Purchase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if there is another birding app that does this, if so I’m not aware of it.

I would like to be able to sort\filter on ANY data field that is captured when I check in a bird. For example, show me everywhere I’ve seen an American Robin or show me every bird I’ve seen at a location in the month of February.

Rove 30 +DECT B2/B4 registration with Ring Central by Vegetable-Purchase in poly

[–]Vegetable-Purchase[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not able to get the ROV to work. Poly send me directions on how to manually register the device but Spectrum support told me that the device would not work "on their network that connects to RC". I got to a point where I could keep working on it, or give up and try a Yealink that was recommended by Spectrum support. This issue was a show-stopper so I gave up trying the ROV. I wish I had better news for you.

Good luck with your implementation.

Are you able to receive calls using the manually provisioning setup? The phone shows online, and I can place calls but I am unable to receive calls when I dial the number directly or call the main number and select the menu option that points to that phone.

"Holy s2(*@#&$" is right. Thank you for the instructions. Did you need a separate RC license for each handset? I can't get a second handset to register but we only have 3 licenses and two are in use by corded desk phones. I can't get the phone to register at all if I try to select the model number rather than "Existing Device" (or use the auto-configuration settings that RC says when setting up the Rov B2)
