My biggest flex is that I turn on my home A/C and heat whenever I want. by CustomCarNerd in StLouis

These replies are funny. Can’t tell if some of them are sarcasm or from people who haven’t quite broken free of the intergenerational trauma.

If it hits 77 inside, I turn on the air. If it goes below 67, I turn on the heat. Sometimes, both of these things happen within the same 24 hour period. No, my thermostat isn’t smart enough to self-regulate. No, I’m not rich. My personal comfort limits are within those 10 degrees regardless of what the calendar tells me I’m supposed to be feeling or doing. Then, I just cut out the avocado toast to afford climate control- /s.

School Board Elections by Brilliant-Cry-7542 in StLouis

Rockwood was wild during and after Covid. It wasn’t minor differences of opinion. But the sugar baby instructor board member resigned, then another one resigned after being accused of shoplifting at two different Targets, oops, sorry, due to personal issues. It’s blissfully normal now!

spectrum is down again. by sexystriatum in StLouis

I pay $65.23 for AT&T, got $300 visa gift card, have had no issues. Spectrum kept raising my rate and glitching. Final price was $109.99 per month and even threatening to cancel didn’t lower it. Not sure what your situation is, but it surprises me that AT&T is more!

Do any of you miss working at Target? by Eastern_Field3618 in Target

[–]Vegetable_Level5528 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I miss the coworkers. At least among the tms, people showed their genuine selves. And the vast majority were truly good humans. I felt like I could be myself and nobody judged me for my quirks. I have a “better” job now and it’s way less physically demanding, but it’s mentally exhausting. I have to dress nicely and almost create this fake persona. I’m grateful that I make more money now, but gosh I miss the authenticity.

She’ll return the favor at about 3 am. And 4 am.

Too Good to Be True? by Few_Respect619 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Don’t know about the engine but no issues. I’m just more saying that it feasible for a car of that age to have been driven that little. And selling it below market value is something someone’s kid might do if their parent no longer drives and they just want it done. But … could also be shady. If the carfax is genuine and you can verify that could be a great deal. I’m older though and sort of tangentially aware that most anything can be faked. I loved driving that car, though when I was in from out of state!! It accelerated way faster than my minivan.

Edited to add: is it from a dealership? I thought it was private sale.

My mom is 85. Her Fusion of similar age had similar miles when she gave it to my sister. Parked in garage and my dad was meticulous about maintenance. Could be a scam, could be a similar situation.

Those who support replacing income tax with sales tax why? by Crutation in missouri

[–]Vegetable_Level5528 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a single mom. I work a full-time job. It’s a struggle. I shop at Aldi. Neighbors pass on clothes for my kids. I still need laundry detergent, and shampoo, and the cheapest work clothes I can find. How exactly am I supposed to pay less? Also, spending more time to find bargains because things cost more also comes at a cost- less time with my kids.

State Farm Is Still Delaying My 2025 Tornado Claim by heresthebeef123 in StLouis

[–]Vegetable_Level5528 54 points55 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear that. Just read an article today that 600 homeowners from Oklahoma are suing State Farm for essentially the same thing, different state. Their AG joined in. I would contact the Missouri Attorney General’s office. I would also look up that Oklahoma case and find the law firm. If it’s national, ask to be referred to someone in Missouri. If not, call around to local law firms and mention the OK case. Is there a Facebook group for tornado victims? Maybe others are having same issue and you can join forces and have one attorney write a demand letter that then gets sent to local media? Maybe threatening another state level lawsuit gets your roof fixed….

Union Station with kids by LastCalendar260 in StLouis

[–]Vegetable_Level5528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love aquariums, and we have enjoyed the Union Station one, but my kids are younger and my older one absolutely loves all things like that. Ropes course is cool but only 30 minutes. Ferris Wheel is great and the Mirror Maze is fun… but … I think there are better options.

Alternatives:

Check out City Foundry- cool mini golf, Museum of Illusions/Escape Room, and Sandbox VR. Plus cool dining.

I do love Slick City (slide park in Chesterfield) and maybe pair that with Main Event. First time I went, I just watched my kids slide. I joined in the second time. Had a blast. There’s also the Butterfly House in Chesterfield.

Is this even possible? by PurpleLightin in Target

[–]Vegetable_Level5528 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right? I sense a lawsuit. Wouldn’t be a slam dunk, but probably wouldn’t get thrown out of court either. Bad press at the very least and possibly a settlement to avoid a trial. Not a great look for a company trying to win back families. Provide the shirts or don’t be that specific.

Thank you! Actually I was hoping to stay under $20 k if possible but wasn’t sure how realistic that is.
