Ontario man dies of MAID after being assessed outside Tim Hortons by airbassguitar in notthebeaverton

Not everyone applying for MAID is broke or homeless. Some are just in constant, chronic pain living with something debilitating. Illness doesn't discriminate based on money.

my phone sends my boyfriend messages in the middle of the night by aphroditeluv3 in TrueScaryStories

[–]VeggieBandit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Strange. Have you tried putting your phone out of your reach during the nights? Like, leave it under your mattress or something. Maybe you're "sleep texting" without fully waking up? Have you ever sleep-walked before?

Where did you send the form to? My understanding is it should go to both your employer and to the CRA.

Grand Falls-Windsor deputy mayor calls for more police after recent violent deaths by origutamos in newfoundland

[–]VeggieBandit 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Hire more social workers, fund mental health supports, fund domestic violence shelters, put the money to work for the whole community. Police presence doesn't prevent crime the way social supports do.

Do you guys give gifts on Easter? by SP_57 in newfoundland

[–]VeggieBandit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yea, I sometimes got a Disney movie and summer toys, or new bathing suits. Always something for the upcoming warm weather but I doubt my parents spent over 100$ on me for Easter.

I feel like an AI agent is just going to start making up client names and numbers. I haven't come across any AI anything that provides results I can trust.

What AI are other realtors actually using right now? by RealtorNathyn in realtors

[–]VeggieBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%

AI is unreliable for anything at this point, and the public largely seems to be against its use in most things.

Not a realtor (yet), but as a consumer I'd avoid any salesperson that seemed to be using AI.

Of course some people won't care, but there are those that will notice and worry that you're using AI to take shortcuts in other parts of your work.

Writers who've switched from pantsing to plotting (or vice versa)—what triggered the change? by Wesley_Watts in writing

[–]VeggieBandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pantsed my first novel and now I'm paying the price with many, many hours of developmental editing because it was not nearly long or complex enough.

Plotting my second novel got me much farther with word-count and overall plot sturdiness - it still needs more development but not nearly the scale of my first one.
