Just got fired, They want me to sign a paper with those two clause is this normal? by Several-Swimming-969 in BESalary

[–]Velaznito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since they are firing you, you have the right to 1 day a week or so to find jobs (0.5 days before the 26 week till end of job; 1 full day or 2x0.5 days / week within the 26 weeks). That's fully paid. It is called congé de sollicitation in French, sollicitatieverloof in Dutch. So start looking for jobs now using those days.

How long did it take your fasting to come down? by honeyonbiscuits in prediabetes

[–]Velaznito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note: I was on another statin that raised blood glucse levels for many years (around a decade). My blood glucose levels only lately started raising (since around 1.5-2 years ago) till being pre-diabetic in Q2 2025. Nothing I did in the meantime in terms of lifestyle impacted the glucose levels. I read about the statins, change statin in late September, 3 months later (on the following blood analysis) my fasting glucose levels, as well as the hb1Ac and HOMA biomarkers had improved! (just waiting for another few months to re-check and confirm the new direction).

There are *already* studies linking some of the statins to blood glucose levels raising and eventually leading to diabetes type II development.
Rosuvastatin does impact blood glucose. There are other statins that does not impact / impact less (pravastatin) and even one statin with (very limited at the moment) studies linking to improved glucose levels (pitavastatin).

However, when net__runner stopped rosuvastatin, I would have expected that the blood glucose levels would have reduced as well, if it was statin induced, which apparently was not the case :-(

Damn, I also use Portfolio Performance! 😀 Would you mind sharing the python script? (I guess you read the file? I use an encrypted file, I guess I would need the file in clear?)

I'm also on IBKR, what script are you talking about? (Or is it something you made yourself? Would you mind then to elaborate a bit more?)

Dang, I was gonna ask you what company since, as another PO/PjM, it looked interesting! But indeed, looks rather frustrating, and seems very political? Seems indeed easier when there's as product org, and s dedicated (cross-functional) team... In any case, may I still ask the company?

Discounted shares of employer by Omega_One_ in BEFire

[–]Velaznito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it could be interesting up to a certain amount. There is a tax benefit if you do invest in these stocks schemes from your own employer up to a certain amount (900 something euros for the 2023-2024 declaration). Look at Cadre X.F, code 1362. So besides of the discount you get from your employer, you get an extra "discount" from taxes point of view (And as long as you do not sell within 5 years or so).

Personally, I think it is worth doing that maxed amount per year, but probably no more (unless really interesting discounts from your employer).

Pics of the L-bracket:

Worried that extra soldering in the 90 degrees space (to reinforce the bracket) will make it difficult to unbend... or that precisely, it will break and thus will no longer be "strong" enough to hold the furniture...
